My only problem is ignorance. I found your remarks to be ignorant and I responded likewise. I'm glad your FH is a teacher and know about schools. I'm glad you've done your "research" on schools. The are mass generalizations about districts - both good and bad. Things are a lot different on the inside.
I am not Ignorant. Not everyone can work in a school before sending their kids there. you have to use the information at hand to make an informed decision. I am using the information that I have the ability to obtain.
Didn't say you were ignorant - I said your remarks were.
and the difference is
Oh lord - if you don't know that...I'm certainly not going to explain it to you.
because there isnt one. my "remarks" are ignorant, but I am not??
lets get back to the topic please.

Re: Freeport Question
I don't know - maybe you are ignorant. However, I don't know you, so I wouldn't presume to know whether or not you were ignorant. Just like you shouldn't presume to know as much about certain schools as you think you do.

I dont like Freeport SD from the reports us "outsiders" get. I didnt have the advantage of working IN the SD. but if that makes me ignorant, I guess Im happy to be that way!

Re: Freeport Question
I worked in the district (8th grade). If your kid is an "honors" tracked kid the mix will be very different than if he/she is a non-honors tracked kid.
The elementary program is very strong...they have a bi-lingual school program in one of the schools which is way cool. Word on the street was many send there kids to the 1-4 program then on to private school for the rest
(elementary is through 4th grade then there is a 5/6 building and a 7/8 building, 9-12 is the HS)
