Freezing eggs NATURALLY?

Hello,

I want to freeze my eggs...but without the hormones and medications. I found this site: http://newayfertility.com/fertility-services/natural-cycle-ivf/ .

Does anyone know anyone who has has either done natural IVF or froze their eggs naturally? Also, any recommendations?

Thank you.

I have no experience with naturally maturing/harvesting the eggs. I'd think that you would need several cycles to get a decent amount of eggs since the typical person only matures 1, maybe 2 eggs a month naturally. Some places do offer low med cycles, which might be something to look into.

Interesting question. This is a new group...

I personally have no experience with natural IVF...

It sounds to me like you are looking for a sole harvest: i.e. use eggs later, when you are older.

Read the papers that are listed on the neway site. They are medical, but the intros are readable & one says what I would think would be the issue:
" the classical protocol of natural cycle IVF treatment is encumbered by a number of other problems, including an increased risk of a failure of oocyte retrieval during egg collection and an absence of an embryo for transfer." If you look it up, there is a study & review of literature article by Roesner published in Archives of Gynecology and Obstetrics in 2013 that showed a very poor pregnancy rate with natural cycle IVF. I'd be concerned if you are going to spend cash on egg freezing as an "insurance" & risk lower success rates.

Personally, I had embryos stored for 5 years that were decent grade & one didn't make it through thaw & the other looked really horrible post thaw (in my limited opinion) & never implanted. Again, this was "old" slow freezing technology (it was what was used that that time). I had paid over $5k cash for those to be frozen & stored & I don't know how much for the implant that failed.

Unfortunately, I think IVF is a numbers game & the better your numbers, the better something will survive the chances of something not going at each step. That being said, you can make it with only 1 or 2 embryos... BUT chances are better with more.

The side effects of stimming were not horrible for me & I'd do it again.
