freezing sperm

Hi girls......are your DHs freezing sperms for future IVF/IUI or any other fertility cycles you are doing? I'm debating if it is neccessary for my DH to freeze his little buddies.

Re: freezing sperm

Not necessary unless there is a problem...does your DH has a problem with very low sperm or quality? or his health? certain health conditions lower sperm counts or even shut down production like in my DH's case.

We are freezing it but we are dealing with testicular failure so DH has very limited sperm so we are banking it (we already did 2 IVF cycles using frozen sperm) for future cycles....

If your DH is "normal" and healthy, there is no need.

Re: freezing sperm

We were going to before my IVF cycle....just in case DH got nervous and had issues that day. We actually forgot to do it. The dr said that it's not a bad idea just in case there's any chance he could be away, not produce, etc...
I guess it can't hurt, right?

Re: freezing sperm

RE strongly suggested my DH produce a sample prior to my egg retrieval. He said he had seen too many times in his career the husband getting "stage fright" the day of. They prefer of course using a fresh "day of" sample, but always wanted to have back up just in case.

DH has no sperm # nor quality issues. I think we will forego freezing his little wormies. Thanks!
