Friday update on DS (mini-update fri afternoon)
Geez his night started out so scary. He wouldn't be consoled and we were packing up for the hospital. Suddenly he was SOAKED!!!!!!!!!! We took his temp and he went from 102.6 to 95.3. We FLIPPED out. We talked to the nurse at the hospital and she assured us it was okay. SHe said to get to the ER if he continued to go down, but she figured he would begin to go back up to normal. And he did. 
He fell back asleep and slept for 8 STRAIGHT HOURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!  He woke up this morning and his temp is still fine. This is very good.
They are waiting to take more blood and urine next week. They want to see if the numbers are as f^cked up as this batch. White Blood cell count was not the only thing that was off by a lot. His urine analysis came back clean, other than a 'moderate' amount of blood.
We are so lost now. It seems when we get more answers, there are suddenly lots more questions. For instance: We always thought leukemia was from high WBC count, not low. One nurse we talked to said maybe it's just a virus.
I do want to add that my mother and I have continuously been checked for leukemia throughout our lives. We obviously have something crazy about our blood and immune systems. So maybe this just starts the vicious cycle of testing for my son now.
We appreciate all the prayers, FMs, calls, emails, texts. I appreciate all the explanations, experiences and theories. We are leaving no stone unturned. I am really not sure if I will have more updates until next week's tests come back. As long as his fever remians gone, they won't be working on him for a few days. If the fever goes back up in the next 24 hours, then he is to go to the ER. But things are looking good for him right now in the fever department.
Sorry for my rambles. Thank you all for being there for us. 
MINI-UPDATE:
Talked more with the doctor at length. Nothing is adding up and she isn't ruling anything out. We have already been refered to the hematologist/oncologist. He is getting his next blood/urine test next Wednesday. They hope the week difference will get this last 'virus' out of him and show if that is what is causing the blood wackadoos.
We won't know aything more until Thursday next week. (Unless his fever spikes again.) This will be the longest week ever.

What a relief to hear that things are looking more positive right now. I think the fact about you and your mom might end up being the case for your son, and although lifelong testing sounds awful, it is certainly better if the end result is that nothing is wrong.
You all will continue to be in my prayers!

I am so sorry that you have had to deal with this..and now your son but I pray with all my might that he has as good of an outcome as you have had. I wish it didn't have to be at all but take comfort in your mother's experience and knowledge with this. She is a great resource and you won't feel so alone.
