From Santa Claus to @sshole?
At dinner tonight Joseph said that this kid at school believed in magic & that was ridiculous.
I told hm that it wasn't nice to make fun of kids. That everyone believes in different things & you need to respect that.
He said "That's not true. Everyone believes in Santa Claus. You & Daddy aren't buying me all of those presents, right?"
I freeze & then roll my eyes as if to say "Yeah right, I'd buy you all of those gifts!" DH immediately says "You got that right."
Then I go on to say that I still believe that both Joseph & Maddie are magic. That no matter how bad Daddy 's or my day is , their hugs & smiles make everything immediately better. I believe in the magic of them.
He said "You mean like the night when you thought I was sleeping & Daddy said you were an @sshole, and then you said he was an @sshole...and then I told you I was awake & you hugged me?"
 
Mommy's response "Um. Yes exactly. The power of your hug. By the way, we shouln't have been saying that to each other. We need to learn better words. I'm sorry you heard that. We should be nicer to each other."
Daddy's response, "Don't say that word again."

It's also "magic" what words kids hear and remember....
How come they never seem to remember "Please", "Thank you", etc.....
