We are in the process of furnishing an entire house, we already have all the lighting fixtures ordered, next is furniture! We have looked around but we are waiting to see what our interior designer has planned for us. cause we didnt see anything we loved at the stores.

I am wondering what it will cost as well, we have a dining room, kitchen, family room, formal living room, master bedroom and an office.

not much at all!

every furniture item in our home was a hand me down from either DH family or mine.

7 years later we are still buying pieces, we finally invested in a bed last year, and a new couch and coffee table this year! Chat Icon

We wanted to spend our cash on other repairs and such, and not charge the furniture, it would come in time.

Neither of us had an apartment so we had nothing.

DH has also made some of our furniture. Chat Icon

We moved into a one bedroom apartment and furnished it for about 8K and really like the style of furniture. I thought this was a great deal!!! I do not however recommend this company as we spent a few nights sleeping on deflating air mattresses, my patio table is in my dining room because we don't have the table, Our patio chairs are in the living room since we have no couch etc.....

Anyway, go with a company with a good reputation. You may pay a little more but you will get good quality and customer service.

my family was very generous and some of it was housewarming gifts but here's an approx breakdown:

LR couch - $1000
LR area rug - $300
LR coffee table - $250-300 (can't remember)
Bedroom set consisting of dresser w/mirror, armoire, two nightables and a chest - $1300
2 desks and chairs for office - $250 (ikea)
leather couch and club chair in den - retailed for $700 but cost us $50 b/c we returned wedding gifts in exchange for it. LOL.

we got stuff at the pottery barn outlet, a furniture store on 110, and fortunoff clearance center.

ETA: accent table - $250

we still want to get patio furniture and a loveseat or club chair for the LR.
