FRONTLINE Plus Not Working!!
I spent hundreds $$ on this stuff for
my 3 pets!! And they still get fleas. I
thought Frontline was the best. They
have been on it for 5+ mnths now and
Im sooo disappointed.
Anyone else?

What is going on? Do you see live fleas on them? That doesn't mean it's not working. You will see live fleas sometimes.
Tell me more about what is going on. I have been using it for years and no problems. I had my dog on Revolution at first and saw live fleas on him then, and was told also that you will see live fleas still. Doesn;t mean it's not working.

Frontline isn't the "best"
My vet doesn't even carry it anymore. Studies have shown that it is NOT effective for a month like it claims to be.
Check out Vectra, it absorbs in to the skin better.

Re: FRONTLINE Plus Not Working!!
I found that even after using Frontline my cats still had fleas. It's SO hard to get rid of them. I wonder if Advantage is better?

Re: FRONTLINE Plus Not Working!!
I had the same problem. You'll see live fleas on your dog because Frontline doesn't repel fleas.
I treat my whole yard every spring with stuff to kill fleas that way it limits my dogs exposure to them, which definitely helps. But, one of my dogs is seriously allergic to flea bites, so we had to switch to K-9 Advantix.
K-9 Advantix is better because it repels fleas (and other bugs too).
ETA - I was wrong they don't have to bite the dog. But, they can still bite and be active on your dog for 12 hours before Frontline kills them. According to the Frontline website:
FRONTLINE Brand Products kill fleas and ticks if they simply come into contact with your pet's haircoat. The fleas will die within 12 hours of contact with your treated pet**, and ticks will die within 48 hours2.

I do see dead fleas, but I see live ones and what I think are eggs (black dot-like tinly pebbles). I think Frontline is suppose to kill eggs no? Maybe I was under the impression that If I pay $50+ on 3 does I would;nt see anything. We treat our hard and house so I was just when I see them. I dont over bathe her. Maybe a different brand is best. I have thick woods behind my home.

Re: FRONTLINE Plus Not Working!!
The black dots are flea dirt (flea crap). Looks like pepper? Flea dirt. Eggs I don't imagine you would see. Frontline doesn't kill eggs but makes them not able to work, by sterilzing the flea I believe.
If your cat goes into the woods, they may be coming in with a new flea from the woods each day. You will see a live flea then. I don't think the flea needs to bite to be killed, it just needs to walk on the fur to be sterilized and die. That's my understanding. So seeing live fleas makes sense.

Re: FRONTLINE Plus Not Working!!
We thought we had a flea once and I'm not even sure that's what it was because I never saw it again. But I found a lot of information on the internet about flea remedies, homemade things to put down, and what the habits of fleas are. The most disturbing thing I found was that if there are fleas in your house, there are more off the dog than on. Once they're in low-traffic areas (under the couch, lets say), that's where they lay eggs and multiply.
It's things I read on the internet so I'm skeptical but I'm not using Frontline Plus so I don't know what to tell you about that. Perhaps your vet would be a better person to answer your questions? I know there is a product that are used with shelter dogs to kill the parasites on them in 24 hours, I forget the name.
Ever since I learned more about spot-on treatments when the EPA gave out their warning about seizures and reactions, we've been using Bug Off Garlic for both dogs.
