FTWMs... cleaning schedule?
Can anyone post their cleaning schedule?
I need to put a system in place now that I am back at work! Right now I feel like so many things aren't getting done - just the basics!

Re: FTWMs... cleaning schedule?
When I worked I did all my deep cleaning on weekends. DH would take DD for a couple of hours and I did my major cleaning. On weeknights I would clean kitchen after dinner, clean up toys and maybe put in a load of clothes to wash but everything else I saved for sat morning when DD is out with DH.

Thursday: bleach whites bc that takes the longest and i always forget it in the machine LOL
Friday: wash lights, darks
Saturday: clean - everything. It takes less than three hours (I have a small apartment but also work fast LOL) and I do it when DD takes her nap.
Sunday: wash towels

Daily: the bare minimum - washing dishes, wiping down the bathroom, tiding up

Can you elaborate on "clean - everything" and what you do??
I'm having a hard time managing my time with the 3 kiddies, cleaning, cooking, grocery shopping, etc.

Re: FTWMs... cleaning schedule?
i try to do 15 mins a night of something that is usually a time consumer on the weekend. ex - last night i did the bathroom. tonight - i will dust the bedroom furniture. (no real schedule - just make a conscious effort to do something so im not stuck losing time on the weekends because it HAS to get done)
i try to do my floors daily (doesnt always get to happen). i also tend to do a load of laundry each night that way it doesnt pile up by the weekend.
i also ask my dh to help when needed.
good luck!
as far as cooking - i am a slow cooker addict. i use my slow cooker often - so dinner is ready when we get home.
also - on sundays i try to make multiple meals so i just have to reheat. i usually do a pot of sauce w/ meats, a pot of soup and chicken cutlets. that often gets me thru the week. also - those chickens at the grocery store are common for us for dinner.
now that the warm weather is here - bbqing is a good option. good luck!

Re: FTWMs... cleaning schedule?
Weeknights - Pick up toys, junk, etc., sort mail, wipe the kitchen, take out garbage.
Saturday morning - Swiffer, vacuum downstairs.
Saturday/Sunday afternoon - Laundry, grocery shop.
Sunday evening - Kitty litter, swiffer and vacuum upstairs.
Basically it's whenever we are NOT doing something I get things done.
Once in a while I'll tackle a bigger job on weeknight. For instance tonight I know I'll be getting out of work on time so I'm going to scrub my bathrooms. But my DS may decide other wise.
I used to be a neat freak. I still am, but I'm learning to let go a little so I can spend time with my little guy more. So what if the hamper is overflowing, if I have clean underwear, all is good.

Re: FTWMs... cleaning schedule?
Our nanny spot cleans and the dishes daily so the house appears tidy everyday.
We get deep cleaning from a cleaning lady once every two weeks.

Re: FTWMs... cleaning schedule?
what cleaning schedule?
on the weekends, i do laundry, vacuum my bedroom and living room, sweep the kitchen floor, clear out the fridge and wipe down the kitchen counters.
during the week, i'm washing dishes, picking up clutter, i might vacuum the living room once or twice, and that's about it.
otherwise, our cleaning lady comes twice a month.

This is like us too.
Daily - sort through mail, clean kitchen counters, clean up all toys.
Weekends - a bazillion loads of laundry, meal planning, grocery shopping, vacuuming, changing sheets, etc.

Re: FTWMs... cleaning schedule?
I'm a neat freak so my schedule may be a bit extreme but it works
Weeknights - vacuum, wipe down kitchen and bathroom surfaces, take out garbage, put away any toys DS has taken out since we got home - takes about 20 minutes.
Friday nights - clean everything that includes vacuuming, dusting all rooms, clean kitchen surfaces, stove top, refrigerator, mop floors, wash shower/tub, toliet, sink etc.
I do this after DS is asleep...I just stick on my IPod and get through it. Since I keep up with it all week long it takes about 2 hours to do a through cleaning on Friday.
Saturday mornings - change sheets
I do DS's laundy on Sunday when we are my moms for dinner. DH handles our laundry so he usually does it one night during the week.
He takes his time getting around to it which really gets to me, but I do enough that I can't take on that responsibilty as well.
I pay all my bills at work during my lunch break.
I also place my peapod or Fresh Direct order on Saturday night for a Monday night delivery.

Pretty much this. I put everything away before the cleaning lady comes, especially all the papers on the counters. WE have 2 dogs that are shedding A LOT right now, so I vacuum every other day or so on the first floor (where the dogs are)

I'm having a hard time managing my time with the 3 kiddies, cleaning, cooking, grocery shopping, etc.
grocery shopping - i run out and get a lot done on my lunch or breaks. . .if i dont get all of it or i need to get BIG stuff, i run out right after work - my mom watches DD so she is flexible with me coming home a little later.
cooking and clean up - i make SIMPLE meals - they are not even recipes LOL just food cooked and edible (i think yummy though!)
saturday cleaning: dust the whole apartment, windex glass surfaces, scrub down kitchen with cleaner, scrub down bathroom with fantastik, then vacuum all floors (not just carpet) and stairs, steam mop kitchen and bathroom.

Re: FTWMs... cleaning schedule?
I do laundry during the week and weekends as needed. Sheets and towels get doen on weekends.
Cleaning - Kitchen is wiped down after each dinner so its never really dirty
The entire house gets cleaned Sat monrings (pick up, dust vaccum, mop, batherooms whatever) Only takes a few hours or less depends on my mood.
Food shopping with DH and DS on Sundays.
If we have something to do on Sat then the cleaning gets done on Sun.
DH helps either cleaning or taking care od DS while I clean.

Re: FTWMs... cleaning schedule?
No real schedule DH usually does all the laundry twice or three times a week He'll throw it in when I'm feeding the boys at night (around 5) when we get home While the boys are eating I'll wipe down the kitchen and take out the vacuum Bathtub gets sprayed with Lysol bathtub every night after the boys are bathed and put to bed. WHen I get in the shower I'll take the shower head and spray down the tub (our bathtub in is the shower, but separate). I always wipe down the kitchen sink every night, we do dish washer every other day, bathroom sinks get wiped at night.
We have a cleaning person once a month to do a big cleaning. DS likes to pretend clean with me so I'll take out the swiffer and he has his own so while we're playing I'll swiffer with him and wipe things down We don't go in the den too often during the week so really only needs to be dusted once a week SOmetimes if DH is with the boys I'll run upstairs and do a quick vacuum

Re: FTWMs... cleaning schedule?
I am a FTWM but I work from home twice a week...that's when I do laundry.
Cleaning (dusting, vaccuming) i try to do Sunday. All else i either do before I start working on the days I'm home ior after the kids gotto bed. i don't have a schedule per say...i just try to clean as I can as time permits.
ETA before I worked from home twice a week i used to do it all on the weekned. it was tough though. I figureed as long as I got the heavy cleaning done at least once a months and maintained it the rest of the month I was OK.
i used to be so anal about everything related to cleaning but that kinds went by the wayside , espeiclaly with twoo kids now.

A schedule? I am lucky if I can take a shit independently these days. I do it when I have the time. Just don't lick my floors when you come to my house!

Re: FTWMs... cleaning schedule?
Daily-wipe down kitchen, put away toys
Saturday or Sundays during DD's nap (or sometimes Friday night after she goes to sleep)-dust whole house, clean bathrooms. At some point during the weekend, DH vacuums.
I try to do a load of laundry every other night, and then catch up on the rest over the weekend.
I usually food shop first thing Saturday morning. Sundays, I try to cook 1-2 things that will feed us a few days during the week, so I don't have to worry so much about cooking after work.

Re: FTWMs... cleaning schedule?
DH refuses a cleaning lady. He's so weird about someone touching his stuff. Ugh! So I try to focus on a room a night, but still end up behind schedule a lot.
