Full sheets for twin bed?
I found this great set of bedding for DD's room. The problem is that it is on clearance and there is only full size left and she has a twin bed.
Is there a way I can get the fitted sheet to fit without shifting around? Should I have it altered?
Her bed is up against the wall on one side so I can just tuck more of the flat sheet in on that side. The comforter will just drape a little lower. I just don't know how to work the fitted sheet.
Should I pass on it or get it and work with it?
TIA!

Re: Full sheets for twin bed?
it could work if:
your dd's mattress is thick and you use shirt stays to keep it stretched. Here is a link to some on Amazon.
I used to use these when I was in the military to keep my sheets uber tight. You could have bounced a quarter off of my bed with these things. Granted, that was a twin sheet on a twin bed, so may not work perfectly, but it would help.
Honestly, though, I think I'd keep looking. sounds like a lot of work to just have a sheet fit.

Re: Full sheets for twin bed?
Since it's for a small child, I would not put the full sheet on the twin bed. She could get tangled in it. I don't know what kind of sheets they are but I would think the cost of altering it and getting would not be worth it since they'd have to cut, add elastic etc., unless you could do it yourself or someone would do it for you. They do have these little pins with spiral wires on them, usually sold to keep a dustruffle from shifting, you twist them into the boxspring (or mattress in this case) but it would make changing the sheets a pain and again, it's for a young child's bed so I'd be hesitant to use a pin-type item.

Re: Full sheets for twin bed?
Thanks for the responses! I'd be nervous about pins too. The shirt stays are a good idea but it would be a lot of work just to change the sheets.
I actually don't have the twin bed yet for her room and MIL convinced me today to just get the full bed so I went ahead and ordered the full size bed set.
Even if DH objects to the full bed decision, I'll just find another sheet set to go with this comforter and I'll just fold the extra width on the dust ruffle before I put the mattress on.
It's a really cute set, I just hope it's just as cute when it gets here!

Re: Full sheets for twin bed?
Could you buy the Full flat sheet and put it on there? Martha Stewart actually recommends this to make the perfect bed. We've done it, buying a Queen flat sheet for our Full bed. You get it nice and tight that way; it's perfect. The difference between full/queen is only a few inches though; it's a lot more between twin/full, but maybe it's worth a shot?
