Fun craft for 4 and 1 year olds?
Any fun crafts I can do with a 4 year old? I have a one year old who will "participate" also but I am really looking to entertain the 4 year old. He is a boy if that matters.
Not super complicated either, I don't really have a knack for crafts. LOL.
TIA!

how about buying a gingerbread house kit and make the house with him.
The one year can help decorate the house!

Re: Fun craft for 4 and 1 year olds?
I have a couple of "art" bins I keep in the closet. Filled with crayons, washable markers, tons of different colored construction paper, stamps, glue sticks, pom poms, stickers, kid scissors, foam letters, foam animals, popsicle sticks, etc.
I always ask people for art activities when bdays or holidays come up bc it's the gift they never get tired of and doesn't take up much room. I also go to AC Moore or Michaels or even 5 Below to get any of that stuff.
From there you just let your DS use his imagination. DS asked me to do a "winter" theme project asking for Rudolph and a polar bear and other stuff. Half the time I google how to draw a reindeer or other stuff. I let him cut it out and we add cotton balls to it and other stuff. I also have tons of coloring books. I am NOT creative either, but there are so many kits out there too. We love the foam kits like hats or we make signs for the room.
My LO is 2 yrs old so I give him the washable crayons to play with and paper. He also loves stickers so I let him do what he wants. No need to be creative... just google and go to craft stores.

We buy sheets of oaktag or a fabric drop cloth, tape it down to the kitchen floor (I mean HUGE sheets) and then let them go crazy with finger paint!

I agree with the gingerbread house kit- they're like $8 at michaels. I would just build the house part the night before while they are sleeping.... BC that part needs a lot of time to set. Then the next day you can have the boys put the candies on it. My DS is 3, and really likes all of the foam kits from michaels, too. Most of those don't even need glue- they're stickers, so not too messy you can get a bucket of foam shapes, draw a Christmas tree on a piece of paper and ave him decorate the tree with the foam shapes.

My 19 month old loves crayons, stickers, watercolor, the dot stampers. You can do a search to find coloring pages or dot art pages with their favorite characters, the alphabet, or something seasonal. I'm sure some of those would be fun for a 4 year old too. She also loves the foam sheets or felt. I cut things out and let her arrange and rearrange them (I did a pumpkin, ghost, and cat for halloween with cut outs for eyes, mouth, nose she could put on and also a christmas tree with little decorations she could add on).
