Fun Topic...Who Will U Tell

I know most of us are/or will be TTC....my question is:

Who will be the first person (s) you will tell?

Will you wait the "3 month waiting period"? Or will you tell right away?

My answers are i would tell my mom and sister right away. As for will i wait....i will wait but probably just until the appt where they can hear the heartbeat to tell immediate family. A little bit longer for friends and other family.

I will tell mom & dad and my inlaws probably right away! Have to swear them to secrecy though, just enough so I know that everything is ok! I get nervous and dont want everyone to know right away.

I will probably tell my family when they are all together. I think I'm going to whisper it in one of my nieces ears and let her tell everyone!

I don't plan on waiting the 3 months. I will never go past 34 weeks with any future pregnancies so if I ever get a BFP - I gotta let them know to plan my baby shower early!

Defintely both sets of parents. And then we have a couple of close friends we will tell.

Everyone, else will wait until the 3 month mark.

i'd like to tell our families all together as well... and as for friends, probably a few weeks later (i dont know if i'll be able to hold out 'till the 3 month mark, but i would try my hardest )

After our m/c, I'm skeptical of telling anyone too early. So DH & I would only know until we hear the heartbeat (8 weeks in). Then, we'll tell our moms/sibling, and only really close friends (those are the main people that would show support in case something bad happened).
At the 3 month mark, we'll the rest of our family & friends will find out. And anyone else would find out when they notice, and ask. Hopefully, I won't be showing until much later, like last time. I was 4 months, and didn't LOOK pg!

I dont know, I will probably let people know right away, as I see them. I dont think Im going to rent a pplane and have a sign flown over LI or anything...although...

Well so far, since finding out I am PG I am doing everything DIFFERENTLY than I thought I would

I first told a few of my closest LIFs friends by FM/email that we were PG .. then I posted about it here, to share it with all of you

But in my 'real life'.. not ONE PERSON knows except for my sister in law (who I know can keep a secret ) Neither set of parents know, none of our siblings, no cousins, NO colleagues.. NO ONE

Now if you'd asked me this a few months ago, I would have told you that I would tell my parents first, other family second, and my online buddies last

Hmmmm well.....first would be LIF gals since I probably wouldn't believe it -- like last time.

Last time, after asking on the LIW TTC board, I called my 2 sisters and 2 friends first to ask about the EPT results.... then I told DH...then my mom..and then a few more people.

DH and I are both the last of 6, so he has 12 nieces and nephews and I have 8. No one really gets excited about it anymore, and the grandmas are both waiting to be great grandmas....so no one really pays much attntion to us anyway...

This time I say I will wait longer because of the m/c but I absolutely cannot keep a secret -- especially if I get put on bed rest again right away, which I had to explain to family and clients too...

I thought I would have waited 3 months as well. We told our parents after the first dr. appointment at around 4-5 weeks. I told some close work friends. Then, at week 6 there was no heartbeat, we m/c'd. SOOO to answer your question I don't want to tell a SOUL until it is 3 months if I can help it. If I tell anyone it will be our parents.

I can't keep a happy secret- I can't even not tell DH when I buy him presents!!

I'm sure I'll just tell everyone, right away. Maybe I'll end up regretting it....but I just know I have a big mouth!

Plus if you are put on bed rest like I was, it is impossible to keep it a secret.

Before my first PG, DH and I said we weren't gonna tell anyone until after the 1st trimester.

That lasted all on 24hrs when I got my BFP! I told my friend at work, you ladies, my parents and our siblings. When I lost the pg to a m/c, I TOTALLY regretted telling everyone.

The next time I am PG, I am only telling my supportive ladies here and our parents. Our siblings won't know until a heartbeat or after 1st trimester.

My parents and siblings blabbed to EVERYONE after they found out, then they had to tell everyone about the m/c. I really regret not threatening their lives!

well of course DH will be th efirst. He wants to wait for awile. He is superstitious. I dont know if I could wait that long considering the long trip it has been for us.

dh first obviously. then beth (bxgell2 from this site) and one of my sisters would be my first two phone calls. next in line would be mom and my other two sisters... then my other friends ... then family.

My husband was there when i took the pregnancy test, so we were both excited when we saw the positive result. We told our parents and siblings a few days later - and told aunts and uncles when we saw the heartbeat.

I began to tell my friends around the 11 th and 12th week. I plan to tell my bosses next week - when ill be 13.5 weeks.

I will try my hardest to keep it from my mother, sister and best friend until I tell my husband. But after him those three will be told seconds later. After that probably the inlaws. I will not wait the three months, especially since they know we want to try right after we get married (which is in 6 weeks)

I am definately waiting the 3mos. I saw what my sister went through with her 1st PG when she MC'd. I actually dont even want to tell my DH till then (although I know I wont be able to) because he has a big mouth and will tell his ex-wife (I dont know why she has to know everything) and his daughter (almost 12yo). BTW, his ex and I only get along for his daughter sake and they were divorced 5yrs before I came along. After 3mos, I am telling everyone, my family first of course.

For those of you that told just a few select family members: were they able to keep it a secret? I would like to tell my parents but I worry that my mom can't keep a secret and I know for sure the MIL CANNOT keep news like that a secret, the minute she finds out the world will know!

As much as I would want to tell the world.. I would want to keep it to myself for as long as I could. I'd even keep it from DH too, until the first trimester was over.

I'm horrible at keeping a great secret, but DH and I are both only children. This will be a very BIG deal and there is no way his mother will keep this to herself. All of Vin's cousins and my cousins have had a child or their 2nd in the past year. All of my friends just had their first or are PG with their first.... baby fever going on!!! Just hope it happens soon

Of course DH and my BF who lives in Massachusetts. It might be difficult to keep it from the IL's. MIL would keep it quiet but FIL would tell the world. He has to know everything and it's impossible to keep something secret, he finds out. I wouldn't feel right telling her not to tell her husband or to ask her to lie to him if he asks.

As for everyone else I'd keep it quiet for as long as possible. Seriously, depending how much I am showing I want to keep it quiet at work, even from my boss until at least 4 months. My school is so bad with gossip and one of my co-workers miscarried last year after she just told everyone.
