Re: Game of Thrones fans- help
I loved the book, and something happened within the first 100 pages that made me go whaaaaaaaattttt??? and that's when I was hooked. Every now and then, the author will throw you a curveball and I think that's what people love so much about this series. No one is safe and if you think you know where the series is going, you're probably wrong. But if you're not into it by now, you probably won't get into it.

She's right. Every time you think you have it figured out, something else happens. You get to the end of a chapter and you can't wait to get back to that character. Characters that you start out not liking, you end up loving.
Although I did have to push a little to get through the very beginning. I know exactly what part she is talking about, where she got hooked. That's where I got hooked too.
They are worth attempting to get into.

Definitely true about the characters you hate at first end up being some of your faves. This book is worth the read for Tyrion's one-liners alone.

I started reading these based on your raves.
A. - Totally right about changing your mind about the characters.
I hate Catelyn. Kinda glad she's gone. I love Jon Snow and hate the way she treats/feels about him - makes me want to slap her.
B. LOVE Tyrion. Did he or did he not poison Joffrey? He didn't right? Just being a di(k to Jaime?
C. Sansa is a whiny bittch. Littlefinger skeeves me.
D. LOVE Daenerys. She's fierce.
I'm on the 4th book and not interested at all. Hope this one gets better.
Can't bring myself to watch the show on HBO b/c all the girls are like 14 yrs old...
