Garmin GPS users
I recently purchased the Nuvi 265T and I'm a complete stooge. What do I do with this thing. The instructions don't say what to do. Does it need to be charged first? I plugged it into my computer, and it does nothing. It just says "garmin" on the screen. When I unplug it it doesn't turn on.
Someone please help the GPS challenged

Did you push the on button down and hold it?

Yes you need to charge it first. I think DH charged while he was driving somewhere.

Re: Garmin GPS users
it plugs into your cigarette ligther so even if its not on its charging while you're driving. it should also have some sort of battery power that it will run on if its not plugged in.
there should be some juice in it for you to turn the power on out of the box..i forget if that was the case with ours.

Re: Garmin GPS users
You shouldn't need to do anything with it, it should be ready out of the box.

You don't need to plug it into the car to power it on? I tried charging it on my computer but nada. I can't get this thing to work. AHHHH

Re: Garmin GPS users
We have a Garmin (different model) and we just took it out of the box and turned it on. No need to charge or anything.
Sounds like yours might be defective, it should work straight out of the package.
