Gas or Oil? Conversion?
We have oil now. The oil heats our house and our hot water...random. Would you put in a gas water heater or convert everything to gas?
I feel like I fill up my oil tank every 2 months. Is that normal?
If you converted to gas...who did you use?

Re: Gas or Oil? Conversion?
We fill our oil tank in the winter once a month or so. Call Keyspan and find out if you can get converted and what it would cost.
Unless you have gas hooked up to the house you can't have a gas hot water heater.

Re: Gas or Oil? Conversion?
We're converting soon. Our neighbors paid to move the gas line to our block, and as soon as they did that, we took advantage and decided to convert too.
If you already have a gas line within 100 feet of your house, you just pay for the new boiler and the plumbing. If not, I think you pay by the foot to move it out to you and that gets extremely expensive.
Call National Grid (it's not called "Keyspan" anymore) and find out if you have gas near you.
