Gas vs. Electric..
We currently have electric, which i've adjusted to very well, being that I've only cooked with gas my entire life. My dh and i were thinking of converting to gas when we redo the kitchen, and i was wondering what the advantages/disadvantages were between the two. Pro's, Con's for each??? and what about cost? is there that much of a difference??
TIA

Re: Gas vs. Electric..
Well Gas is supposedly more efficient. We have a 50 gallon propane tank on the side of my house. It costs about 100.00 to fill however they usually fill it with about 30% left so the bill is like 75 per month. Gas stoves are more accurate for temperature. You can lower and raise heat immediately, etc. If you notice in restaurants they always cook with gas. It's much more efficient. I think overall it's probably cheaper too.

Re: Gas vs. Electric..
gas is better for the stove top - heats evenly around the pot, shuts off immediately, cooks faster, etc., electric is better for the oven (more consistent temperature).
We just has a gas line run to the house, and we're having our stove delivered Friday - its a gas top and electric oven.

is it a range? or separate pieces? right now we have a gas range...but when we redo - i would like gas stove and electric oven...but separate pieces seem more expensive
