GD and glucose testing - Update on me
Just an update... today is the 2nd day of testing my blood sugars 4X a day and I have to say its not as bad as I thought.
I have found what fingers are more sensitive and the PA taught me how to get the fingertip more ready so it doesnt hurt that bad.
The only part that stinks is that I will have to wake up at 7:45am on the weekends to test and eat breakfast. Goodbye sleeping in for my last 2 months.
My numbers have been pretty good. The fasting numbers are borderline but passing and the during the day testing numbers are perfect!

Re: GD and glucose testing - Update on me
While I still don't envy you for having to do that 4 times a day I am happy to hear that your numbers day numbers have been perfect!
What's the difference between your day numbers and your fasting numbers?

Well she said to "milk" the fingertip first. Rub the blood up, towards the nail and get the fingertip nice and warm and "plump" with blood. Then using the other fingers of your hand or press your finger down on a hard surface almost as if you are trying to cut off the circulation, then prick your finger on the sides. Not the center or the tip but the sides. And always rotate fingers.
Hope that helps!

Thank you!
Well the fasting numbers have to be 60 - 90 and the regular numbers are supossed to be under 120.
My fasting numbers were 87 and 90 Pretty borderline... but my other numbers were in the mid-80's

Re: GD and glucose testing - Update on me
Glad to hear its not as bad as you thought...
By the end of my pregnancy I was getting up in the middle of the night to have a quick snack (b/c I was starving) so I would sleep a little later in the morning....

Well I am on a daily meal plan with breakfast being at 8am so I have to be up by at least 8am so I can keep up with the rest of the scheduled meals. I have to test 4x a day.
