gel manicures
Can someone explain this to me? Are they bad for your nails? I had wraps on my nails years ago and now my nails are healthy and strong. With 2 kids, my hands are constantly in water and manicures just don't last. Does the gel damage your nails like wraps/acrylic? How does it come off when it is time for another manicure or polish change? Remembering them ripping the wraps off my nails for fill in's sends chills down my spine.

Re: gel manicures
Try to get CND Shellac instead. I hear it's better for your nails than gel.
Both gel and Shellac are not like wraps- you don't get them filled etc. It's just a manicure- with a special polish and top coat.
I got shellac and it made my nails so hard and strong. The polish stayed shiny and lasted with NO chips for almost 3 weeks.
it was awesome!
I took it off myself at home- soak a cotton ball in acetone and put on your nail- cover with foil and sit for 20 min Then it should start to peel and come off.

Re: gel manicures
I've been getting gel manicures for almost a year now. They last me so much longer then the regular french manicure I used to get. My nails are nice and strong and I haven't ever had any issues with them. I always get a pedicure too so while Im having that done they usually come over and wrap a cotton ball soaked in nail polish remover around my finger tips with tin foil. They sit on there for 10-15 minutes or so and then it comes off easily by the time my pedicure is done.
