i just did this- its a more detail blood tet thats done. It costs about $160 and it covers the Down Syndrome and can tell you the childs chromosomes

Not from the regular tests. You would need the cvs or materni 21.

When I had the Materni21 they told me they could tell me the sex but we already knew. They confirmed she was a girl.

I was interested in the MartiniT21 test but my Ob said I couldn't have it unless I was at least 34 or 35 years old. She said I could go to Jersey and get it done, but I couldn't in NY.

What prompted you to get this test?
When we had our 20 week sono they told us she had a persistent right arterial vein. Apparently this is a vein that is supposed to disintegrate and when it doesn't it could be a marker for Down Syndrome. That combined with being in my late 30s it was recommended to take the test.

It usually is if you are over 35 for have abnormal results for your NT. My blood work for downs were abnormal then it was covered and I was just responsible for $200. My insurance picked up over $1000 of it.

I got it done because I refused the Amnio and I wanted to know what the sex was. Its not covered by my insurance so I dont know if there is an age limit to who can have it. I did the one called Verify. I think it may be the same as maternity21 but its newer?
