Gender Selection

Does anyone here have any experience or know anyone with experience at the Gender selection clinics that will allow you to determine the gender of your child?

Please don't flame if you disagree with this practice! I'm a regular poster with 2 boys and this will be the last baby. DH & I would really love a little girl.

Just wondering if these places work. TIA

I don't know any clinics, but have you checked out www.ingender.com? They have lots of info on both high-tech and low-tech gender swaying. Good luck. Hope you get your Chat Icon .

No experience but I think it is very pricey from what I have heard, like 20K pricey unless we're not thinking of the same thing.

Good luck!

No it does not always work. I saw a program about this not too long ago.

I don't understand selecting gender for anything other than medical reasons, but I guess to each their own.

I tried for a girl with DD and it worked. We did the lots of BD before O thing but again with that you leave it up to chance. We're kind of trying for Chat Icon this time but neither of us are setting our hopes too high really since again, it's all up to chance.

Re: Gender Selection

no flames from me.. i have 3 boys and want a girl sooo desperately. unfortunately, i know someone who has had this done after 3 boys in hope of a girl and got a boy anyway!! it only gives you a 75% chance of concieving a girl and that's not much more than you'd normally have. if the odds weren't that bad i would do it myself. Good luck! hope we both get our girls!Chat Icon

Re: Gender Selection

We're going to try for Chat Icon this time using natural swaying. I have learned alot about how diet and PH can affect gender from the ingender site.

I realized that I was actually doing alot of boy things (drinking green tea, taking evening primrose oil, BD on ovulation) when Chat Icon was conceived.

Re: Gender Selection

I know someone that paid a ton of money to have the sperm separated and traveled out of state for the procedure. She had 2 boys and wanted a girl. She had a boy. She was upset too.

Re: Gender Selection

How come none of the "home solutions" focus on the father? HE's the one that ultimately determines DC's gender. If he's not making any Y chromosomes, there's nothing you can do to have a boy.

I wouldn't spend $$ to pick a gender, but I can definitely understand why people would want to.

Re: Gender Selection

My SIL was looking into it. I think the place she was looking was around 10K, and I think she said it was around a 95% guarantee.

However if you don't get what you want, you don't get any kind of refund.Chat Icon

I know this is not what you asked for, but there is a book that few of my friends have used and it helped them, they all got what they wanted(who knows, maybe it was just luck ), so maybe it can give you some ideas and info:
Toni Weschler's Taking Charge of Your Fertility
also ask your ob/gyn , they might give you some names.

Yeah that's where these people I know went..to a place with a guarantee. I personally think it's a scam and you get what you get.

Re: Gender Selection

I waited until giving birth to find out the sex, but I knew it was going to be a boy, I did a lot of studying up on making boys.

Mainly dates and positions...

DH taking a hot shower right before BDing...

Re: Gender Selection

no, my priest required I get certified in natural family planning before he would marry me.

I had a nun read over my charts for 6 months, so I turned pro when it comes to knowing when I ovulate.
