general anesthesia......
Due to my thrombophilia issues its looking like I may wind up being put to sleep for my c-section depending on when my last Lovenox shot was when I go into labor. I am delivering at Good Sam and was just wondering if any of you have been through this and do you know if they will still let DH in the OR if I'm put out?? I really need to know that he can still be there for the birth of our babies even if I may be asleep through it all.

Re: general anesthesia......
I thought for general, at Good Sam, they won't let DH in. They let him in if it's a spinal.
ETA - I'm not sure what exactly your issue is but, I was on lovenox too. I took my shot at 11pm on the 7th and went into labor at 2am on the 8th.
I was suppose to wait until 11pm on the 8th for my c-section because of my lovenox shot. My OB said so long as my contractions weren't terrible and I wasn't dialating fast, they would try and wait for 11pm. He had ordered extra blood for a transfusion in case I couldn't make it to 11pm. Of course, I didn't make it. I was then scheduled to go at 7pm but there was an emergency so I was pushed back to 9. I had a spinal and the twins were born at 9:58 and 9:59. Luckily, I didn't need the transfusion.

Re: general anesthesia......
why doesn't you dr. switch you to heparin? I switched at 37 weeks, but if your dr. thinks you will go earlier, you can switch earlier.

I don't know but Dr Kofinas was a little hesitant to do it so I asked if we could at least cut one dose a day out then.
