General Anesthesia- Did your DC throw up? (POLL)
Just a poll here, so I can be better prepared. (However, can I really be prepared for his surgery?)

You know my answer, but...
DD threw up in the recovery room a few minutes after we gave her some water. Then 2 more times at home, later that night.

I know we were lucky -- but DS didn't even cry when he woke up from the anesthesia. He was 6 months old. When we were reunited in the recovery room he just looked a little tired. We gave him his bottle and he took it fine.
I hope you're as fortunate!!! I was a mess beforehand too.

I know there are risks but I think you will find that DS takes the anesthesia better than we adults do.

I have to add:
DD doesn't throw up randomly, but if she has an illness where "vomiting can occur", she usually does vomit. I mean, she's only ever thrown up maybe 5 times in her life, but like I said, she does seem to have a delicate stomach in cases where "vomiting can occur".
For instance, when she had her UTI, the first time I gave her the antibiotic, she threw up all over....it warned it could happen on the label, and she did. I learned that her belly had to be VERY full before giving it to her b/c it was a strong antibiotic.

My son didn't but they prepared us that alot of them do. I know that I throw up after anesthesia so I thought he would.
It took him a bit to walk up, but they said that was fine, the longer it takes to wake up the better and happier they are when they wokr up. The nurses had to wake him and he did fine. After he woke we left about 30 minutes later.
