Anyone ever have a c-section with general anesthesia??
I don't think I am a candidate for an epidural because of a spinal fusion. An epidural wouldn't take and it would be too risky for them to try to catheterize my spine.
I'm very worried about my husband not being there because of this. Anyone ever heard of the DH being allowed in anyway???

Re: Anyone ever have a c-section with general anesthesia??
This is how I gave birth. My hospital would NOT let DH in with me. They told me the only reason they let DH is as a support for the mommy and that since I would be out I wouldn't need the support. I didn't know I was delivering this way until about 5 minutes before my scheduled c-section so I didn't have much time to freak out. DH told me that he was able to see the baby after just a few short minutes and was the one who got to wheel him into the nursery.

Re: Anyone ever have a c-section with general anesthesia??
I have a spinal fusion from my neck to right above my butt and had a spinal during my c-section. I thought the only way was to get general also and I was soo upset.
I went to a back surgeon and they looked at my x-rays and determined where I could get the spinal.
Please FM if you have any questions.
