Genetic counselors
DH read an article in today's Newsday about older fathers and its correlation to autism in their children. (He's 48) I don't think this can be detected in tests, but he's concerned about other problems/issues.
Has anyone gone and can reccommend a good Dr.?
TIA!!

I saw this too -- but the test goup was Israeli, so I wouldn't put too much stock in it - especially since DH is a nice Irish boy, lol.
As if we didn't already have enough to worry about ----

I saw that part too and told him about it, but he's still concerned.

Re: Genetic counselors
Well then...tell him to hurry up, before he gets any older!! Just teasing -- I still think you should see an RE, they can advise you on these issues...

Re: Genetic counselors
I think going to an RE is the best idea too, because if I remember correctly the REs office did a whole genetic panel on me and DH and it was covered by insurance since it's part of the diagnosis stage
Good luck!!

Re: Genetic counselors
I went to Madonna Perinatal in Mineola for genetic counseling when I was pregnant. I had an amnio and actually had to have further genetic testing for a balanced translocation with them. The genetic counselor there was really nice and knowledgeable.
