Getting a toddler to sit still for pictures
Ive been trying for days to get DS to sit for pics at home for the card, as soon as I sit him down, hes on the go. Ive tried giving him "props" to occupy his attention.
Any suggestions?

Re: Getting a toddler to sit still for pictures
That's what we did and it worked for a toddler AND an active, crawling 9 month old.

Take him outside and let him run around while you follow him paparazzi style.

I think active, candid photos are your best bet. I just went through the same problem today (last year too).
A carseat will do it also, but you may not want the carseat on your holiday card!

I put him on his rocking horse in front of the fireplace - worked like a charm

if i am trying to get a good shot i just put him facing the tv with elmo on and then he sits still and smiles.... otherwise it is a lost cause

Re: Getting a toddler to sit still for pictures
Last year I actually put his favorite small toy IN the Christmas tree. (Far enough in to give him a few seconds to pick it out.) As he took the time to pick it out, I snapped pics. He found it funny. So I kept doing it and snapping pics. Of course the toy wasn't in the pics, so it looks like he is just interested in the tree.

ITA! Done this the last 2 years and it works like a charm! That's how I get ANY good pics of DD throughout the year, actually!
