I was walking to the train this AM and I was looking at the girl in front of me-amazed that I was able to stare at her Underwear! I'm not a perv or anything but I was like WTH! She was only wearing tights and the shirt she was wearing (a button down collared dress shirt) was NOT long enough to cover her butt.

I thought maybe I was just out of touch with this latest fashion.

There is a girl in my office that does this. I'm like why not just wear tights? lol

I love this chart, I got an email of it a while ago.

It goes amazingly well with "am i wearing a dress or a shirt"

If it was that short, it was a shirt, not a dress. Chat Icon

In my mind I wanted to whisper to her "Hey-I think you forgot your pants!" But I know that would have been considered mean so I kept my mouth shut.

So let me ask a question.

If I am wearing a tunic or dress that just covers my butt or a little farther...and I wear tights but they are NOT see-through...is that acceptable??

IMHO, no. If it is a tunic, that is a shirt and you need to wear pants. If it is a dress that you could legitimately be mistaken for anyone on "reality tv" then wear pants.

DH sees no problem with this outfit, and btw would like pictures. Chat Icon

Re: Getting back to the old adage - leggings are not pants...

so this is sooooooo funny

i have a shirt and a tunic that are the same color blue. . . i grabbed my jeggings and the SHIRT instead of the TUNIC and DID NOT REALIZE until I got to work! I was mortified. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I tied my work sweater around my waist for the rest of the day.

I go home and DH is waiting outside for me with DD and he is like WHAT THE EFF ARE YOU WEARING?? that looks SO weird.

My neighbor comes out and points out that DD and I are wearing matching outfits (jeans and the same color top) and DH doesnt hear her correctly and screams out across the street "I KNOW, DOESNT IT LOOK TERRIBLE? I WAS JUST TELLING HER THAT?!?!?!" my nieghbor was so confused, and I just wanted to die LOL

Question:

So this is considered a "tunic"...and you're saying leggings are not appropriate? I think this looks fine, if it was a regular sized shirt, I would agree no leggings but this is long, no ?

That's dumb - what are you supposed to wear with that then?

My rule is, if you can't see the bottom of my cheeks ) I am wearing leggings.

Just to clarify - Tights (as in they are tights - not leggings) with tunic - No. Leggings with tunic - Okay.
