getting curtains made?
Anyone ever get curtains made?
Looking for a certain design on blackout curtains but cannot find them (at least not ones I can afford). I have found them for around $60 something a panel.
I found PERFECT fabric at JoAnns. But I can't sew. Anyone know of anywhere to bring fabric to have curtains sewn?
TIA

Kim's Decorating, mountauk hwy Bay shore. I've gotten seat cushions done there with my own fabric, but I know they specialize in window dressings

Re: getting curtains made?
just an FYI, custom window panels are VERY expensive ..........
If you have a a friend or family memember who can sew a straight line, you might want to solicit their help. Also, you have to consider how much fabric you need for the panels. Sometimes that runs into $$$$

There is a place I always see on the LIE service road going east right before the exit for Rt. 110. I forget the name but they have a big sign on the building saying that they do make custom window treatments.

Lots of bloggers make their own window panels using no-sew tape that you iron together. If you google, I am sure you would be able to find a tutorial.
I really want to learn to use a sewing machine for basic simple things like this!

AGREED! I want to learn to use a sewing machine! The curtains would be hung up by now.
I want to try the "no-sew" method, but DH wants me to try to get them made. He doesn't trust my crafty skills!
Thanks for the input everyone!!!
