Gift exchange spinoff-does anyone exchange gifts with their spouse
On the other thread, it seems almost no one exchanges. Is there anyone that does exchange gifts with their spouse?
I do-we don't go crazy, but we get each other stuff.
If we got hit hard(er) by the economy, we might not and most of the attention is on DD now, but I like for everyone to have a few gifts under the tree.
I cannot envision a time when we won't-I don't know, I just like exchanging and surprising each other.
Anyone else?

yes, we always exchange. we don't go crazy but we do get a few things for each other. This year, we are buying a joint gift (new lens for our camera and new TV), but I also got Kevin a wallet and some other small items (kept it under $100)

We do, not as much in years past, but that is because we have  now 
I got him some books, a nice sweater, dvd, pjs
I know I am getting pjs (we are boring people  ) and some other things.
I like to see him unwrap and have stuff to unwrap myself.

yes we do. We set a limit on what we are going to spend on each other, give gift ideas and then go shopping!
We dont go crazy but its nice to give a few things for each to open

We do!! We usually impose a spending limit so as to not go overbaord....but I love how creative we both can be within that limit!! I sooo enjoy watching his face as he opens my presents!!

We do. It is the one time of year we really spoil each other. We have a christmas account to save in increments so it does not *hurt* our $$ as much.

Good to hear-I was beginning to feel like a child myself, thinking I like gifts.
I got Chris a few books, an audio book a pair of jeans and a couple shirts that I think will he will really like. A couple stocking stuffers, that's it really.
I also got the family the Christmas Story board game-that's from Santa to all of us, but really for DH.

Oh Heck yeah we do.
He goes WAY overboard on me... and I get him a lot of things too.
That's our favorite part of the day- when it's just the 2 of us, opening our gifts all cozy by the tree!
And to be honest- we aren't big on birthdays at all- rarely get each other bday gifts- so this is our one time of year to go nuts!

We usually do, but like I mentioned in another thread, we've spent so much on the house lately that we're skipping gifts for each other this year.
I enjoy teasing DW. I'll tell her that I got her something really good, but I can't tell her. She spends the next several days trying to figure out what I got for her, but I never tell, even if she does guess it right....

We do, but we don't go crazy. My DH is terrible to buy for because he just buys what he wants whenever he wants it, so it makes it really difficult to buy for him.
Usually it's stuff like DVD's or CD's or Books.

We still exchange gifts, DH got me a diamond ring which was around 3k, plus he went to the mall yesterday and spent around 800 on other gifts for me, but i don't know what they are. He gets them all professionally gift wrapped so i have to wait til thursday to see what they are.
I spent a little over 300 on him, i got him clothes and jeans which he needs desperately.

Sort of. We bought new phones last week & are getting a new laptop, so due to budget & time, that is the extent of our gifts, but last year we did give a few surprise gifts & opened them on Christmas morning. It seems to be slowing down to an every other year thing, but that wasn't entirely intentional.

We do, but on a much smaller scale then before we had DS. We set a $150 limit, though I tend to go over it.

DH and I do, also. It's not as much this year (at least from me to him) because we are a little more poor than usual
He did come home and wrap quite a few boxes for me last night, though. I'm so excited!

We do. We weren't this year, just go out to a really nice dinner, but I saw a leather jacket for him and decided it would be his Christmas present. He wasn't surprised when I told him I got him something.

We always exchange presents but never go crazy. A lot the times we do get something joint or something that either one of us wants for the house. I can't see having Christmas morning in our house without opening something.

We do and we go a little crazy - he goes a lot crazy - for birthdays and anniversaries too. I'm sure this will change when we have kids and I feel a little guilty that he spends so much - but we love it and have fun and we're each others babies until any others come along.

We do - and we spoil each other! We always get comments from family members about how much we spend so this year we are exchanging in private!
I didnt do it on purpose but when I was answering a thread on LIW I realized that I spent over $1000 on him - I didnt mean to I just start shopping early and I keep buying and buying! I was just excited that I actually found SEVEN things that he likes in one year - usually it is a struggle to find ONE!
And he always treats me very well too - even though my birthday is four days before Christmas

We always do. I told DH not to get me a gift this year because we just spent so much money doing IVF, but I came home the other day to 2 gifts sitting on the kitchen counter! (Got them early since they were heavy and we'd be travleling for Christmas).

Same here. for our anniversary & b-days we usually just go out to dinner somewhere nice and maybe a small gift. DH really loves Christmas so I have no problem spoiling him & celebrating with him
The only other day that we go a little overboard has been Mother's Day & Father's Day last year, but it was our first.

We exchange gifts and I hope we always do. Even though the amount we are able to spend may change, I still like the idea of getting my husband gifts and exchanging with him. Its our little moment. I'd miss it, if we didn't exchange.
