Gift for NICU nurses?
I wanted to send something to the nurses that took care of dd in the nicu.
They were awesome to her and to me - especially when we found out she wasn't going home when I was.
What should I send and do I just send it to all the nurses?
There were about 4 that really stood out and were there most of the time with dd.

My SIL is a NICU nurse upstate and she's said that they love when people send stuff from edible arrangements because it gives them something fresh and healthy to snack on...especially on the overnight shifts!

DH and I sent flowers to the 2 L&D nurses that tended to me. They were just so awesome and gave us such a great experience.
Or, maybe you can send a catered lunch over there?

Thanks the fruit sounds good... I actually got one when I got home and it was nice.
Thing is, how to make sure the couple of nurses that were there get it? I know sometimes they work 12 hr shifts and then off for a few days.
I probably should have brought it when we took her home, but there was too much going on.

i would probably get two fruit arrangements-one for day shift and one for night shift. if you are able to, and want to send a GC to starbucks or barnes & noble for the 4 nurses that stood out, i'm sure they'd be very grateful.

We actually brought them cookies from our favorite bakery when DS was still in the NICU. My FIL knows the owner of a bakery, so we did that for 2 weeks & then upon discharge, I brought a huge Edible Arrangement to them & they were so appreciative...

I'm a NICU nurse and we love when parents send us anything (lunch, edible arrangements or flowers).
You can call and see if those couple of nurses are on that day. IF not, try to see when they're on. Usually we work 12 hour shift and we do them 2 days in a row and then we have 3 days off.
