Gift wrap at BBB - thoughts?
I just went to BBB in Lake Grove to purchase a shower gift for FSIL. After the cashier rang everthing up I asked him where the gift wrap area was and he said, "Oh, i'll call someone to meet you over by the bathrooms." The only thing by the bathrooms was a locked door. I waited for a couple of minutes, the door opened and an employee told me she'd take my packages to be wrapped and be right back....I started to follow her (towards the locked door) when she told me that no, I couldnt come. Before I was able to gather my thoughts she had disapeared. About 10 minutes later she came out again with everything wrapped. Dont you think they should wrap things in front of you while you watch? How am I supposed to know if everythign in the boxes? What if the chick is a clepto? How would I even prove it if something was missing? Now I'm paranoid and feel like opening the boxes but that defeats the purpose of gift wrap now doesnt it? Thoughts?

Re: Gift wrap at BBB - thoughts?
it's the same thing at the BBB i go to in Westbury. Doesn't make much sense to me, but i have to trust that they're wrapping the box correctly. I actually enjoy wrapping gifts myself so i don't use the service anymore (i did when it was a large item)

I do find it strange that they bring it away to wrap it.. I never use their wrapping service. I enjoy wrapping myself.
I would be thinking the same as you, but would let them do it.

Re: Gift wrap at BBB - thoughts?
I had the same experience a few months ago, I thought it was so strange!! I was expecting it to be like BRU where you wrap the gift yourself and they just supply the materials. Or like you said, wrap it in front of me. I wasn't really too worried about the girl taking anything out of the boxes, but I just thought it was so odd to be hidden behind a closed door like that!!
Though she did do a very nice job with a pretty bow and everything!!
