Girls, I need prayers/advice *UPDATE*
So, I had a blood test done on Tues morning. My derm requested it b/c he is still trying to get to the bottom of my itchy boob problem LOL! The blood test tested for different things - things that they don't typically test for unless requested.
I went to my derm yesterday and he told me my results are "abnormal." The Thyroid result came back high, so now I have to see an Endocrinologist. And the scarier thing is that the A&A came back positive (A&A is what they test for Lupus) So NOW I ALSO have to see a Rheumotologist (sp). He DID say that there are tons of false positives out there, which is WHY he wants me to see the Rheumo. And of course I need to see my PCP first to get referrals for all this!!!
It just never ends! I had a breakdown when I got home last night. I am 28, I should not be spending all my time and money on doctors and specialists!!! I have used my entire FSA for the year already and its only the end of March!
I'm sorry, I just needed to vent, and ask for your prayers. And if anyone has any experience w/ the A&A or high Thyroid thing, please let me know. I don't really know what any of this means!!!

I'm soo sorry you are going through all of this. If you don't mind me asking, since I just joined on here, but how was your boob itching, because mine has been on and off? You can FM me if you feel more comfortable.
Try not to stress just yet. Wait until you see the specialists and find our what they say.
In the past two years, I've seen so many doctors as well, and have been diagnosed with so many different ailments that I go to the doctor regularly as well.
FM me if you ever want to talk.

Thanks, Megan! Well, I guess it was a blessing in disguise that he had me go for the bloodwork b/c of all this but in truth, I REALLY think he was over thinking it and that the itching is really just dry skin and from my bras. On the weekends, I don't wear a bra and I don't itch! Clearly, there's a relation there! So, I guess it was good that I had the bloods done but I really don't think it was related to the itchiness.

Thats what I assumed it was, dry skin because of the winter. It is a blessing that you just happened to get a blood work, who knows how long you would've went without knowing you had to get these things checked. Its better to be safe and knowing whats going on with your body than be totally oblivious.
I had fallen while on vacation a year and a half ago and dislocated my tailbone, because of the pain, I almost fainted. When I came back and went to my dr and told him I fainted, he sent me to a cardiologist. When I went, the heart tests showed that I have a bicuspid aortic valve and I need to get it tested every year to check its status. For 24 years I had not known. I feel safer knowing I have to get it checked and that I am fine.

My advice : don't worry until you have to. It will just make you crazy in the interim.
Sounds like so far there are no conclusions yet to your tests, hence the further testing. Sounds like your doctors are trying to be thorough, which is a good thing. Here's hoping that this turns out to be nothing more than itchy boobs.

Re: Girls, I need prayers/advice
first advice, breathe!!
I have hypothyroidism (the autoimmune version, Hashimotos Syndrome) and I also have a plethora of other AI conditions, chronic AI hives, Lupus, Sjogrens and many others exist in my family.
The best thing with any AI is to stay calm and stress free, stress tends to exaserbate AI conditions.
Thyroid issues can totally be controlled by medications and worst case scenerio, they take your thyroid out which is not life threatening or altering in the least.
You will be ok, dont jump to any conclusions, speak with the MDs first and go from there.
FM me if you have ANY questions

I don't have any advice other than to do your best not to go crazy worrying while you wait for test results. I am sure that is much easier said than done though!

Re: Girls, I need prayers/advice
OK – I know it’s scary but really try not to panic….I had this happen a few years ago to me and I was a mess and it turned out I don’t have Lupus. I have an auto immune disease - alopecia where I lose my hair in round bald spots usually when I am stressed and the doctors really don’t know why it happens, well I started going to a new pc doctor and she sent me for blood work etc and my A&A levels were high so she said oh you have Lupus & need to go see a Rheumatologist. Well needless to say I was HYSERTICAL and a mess! I went to the doctor and he walked in the room grabbed my hands and said my dear you don’t have Lupus I have no idea what your doctor is talking about! You’re A&A levels and thyroid levels can up high for a number a reasons - I think mine turned up high because of the alopecia and at the time I was on bc pills and it cause my potassium levels in increases which can cause your A&A levels and thyroid levels to be increased.
Sorry so long! Hope everything works out okl!! FM me if you need anything!!

Re: Girls, I need prayers/advice
Thank you all SO SO SO much!!!
My next questions will prob be for any recommendations for endocrinologists and rheumatologists. My insurance isn't taken by too many doctors so what I did was printed out the list of docs that take my insurance from the Oxford website. Here's what they gave me for my area:
Endocrinologists: Howard Brand Michelle Jardine David Kugler Ching-Hui Wu Teng-Lung Hsu
Rheumatologists: Mark Bernstein Ronald Bennett Sara Johnson Paul Schulman Alan Kaell Max Hamburger Peter Rumore Howard Blumstein Hong Xu John Ippolito Mark Tan Yaqoot Khan Myron Kleiner Clara Markovits
I live in the Centereach area but if you have someone you know and love and its in Nassau that is okay too. I would just need to see if they take my Oxford.
