Girls that are giving birth in the winter

What will you be bringing the baby home in. I dont know what outerwear, if any, i should put the baby in. My due date is February 1st, the dead of winter.

Of course, I have a bundle me, hat and blanket. But what else do I need.

OMG! Me too and I was surprised at how many people posted thinking - I didn't know water births were so popular!Chat Icon

Anyways, I am using a side snap long sleeve tee, a velour one piece outfit, a hat, booties, bundle me and blanket. Still haven't decided whether or not to bring bunting - I'll play it by ear.

Re: Girls that are giving birth in the winter

down here in GA it was cold the night we brough her home. I think she was in the undershirt, a footed sleeper AND a fleece bunting.

The next day it got into the 70's for a good 2 weeks

My baby was born Feb 1st. When we brought him home wound up being a 60 degree day - go figure.

I bought a footed 3 piece outfit. Shirt, pants with feet and little jacket (never got the jacket on him - too squirmy). I used the bundle me over the infant seat. I bought a cute blanket that matched the outfit but the day was warm and barely used it. I just threw it over the bundle me/infant seat as we went from hospital to car and car to house.

Im due the end of Jan. and registered for a "Take me home" set. I think it was a sleeper, blanket, hat, booties..not 100% sure what was in the set (I forgot).
Im trying to stay off the BRU site because I don't want to ruin anything for myself and dh doesnt want me on there eitherChat Icon
If and when I have a shower and if I do get the set, I'll definitley share pics!Chat Icon
Oh, and Im going to pack blankets too.

me, too.

however to actually answer your question:

you and baby won't be outside that long...so simply dress her and an extra layer [blanket sleeper that can go over her clothes] and cover her face with a blanket while you are getting into and out of the car. my first was born in May, but it was rather cold for some wonderful reason, but i remember really only being outside for seconds.
