Girls who have a weight issue
For those of you who gain and lose...........When you put on some weight does this make you NOT want to go out? I mean I have gained weight (30lbs) and I dont want to go anywhere anymore (you would think this would make me stop eating junk...nope) I dont want to buy clothes that FIT because that would mean buying a bigger size
I am so disgusted with myself I just weighed myself and I want to crawl back in bed(I cant but I want to)
Is there anyone else feeling this way>???

Re: Girls who have a weight issue
yes. I feel this way at times. Especially with the buying of a bigger size. My normal size still fits (snuggly) but I still wear them. Let me tell you, Im sure I would look much better in a bigger size

Re: Girls who have a weight issue
Absolutely. I'm up 25lbs too. At this point I'm uncomfortable in my own skin. I hate seeing people that haven't seen me in a while because I feel like I look like a caricature of my former self.
I also have no idea how to dress for my size. I can't stand that I have this innate quality to pick my former size 4s from a rack immediately - when I couldn't even fit a thigh in a size 4.

Re: Girls who have a weight issue
I used to feel very self-conscious, now I feel moderately self-conscious. I won't let it stop me from seeing friends, but I do let it stop me from going to the gym, which I know it totally ridiculous!

Re: Girls who have a weight issue
I've gained weight in the last year...clothes a getting snug. But I have started to run again, and they are finally buttoning a LITTLE easier. I stress little, I am certainly not to where i was, and it could all be water, but at least I'm moving in ther right direction. I guess my answer is instead of getting down on myself I'm trying to do something.

Re: Girls who have a weight issue
Yep, I have gained about 30 lbs since my wedding and I am mortified. I am off next week and thinking about making plans but I am so disgusted with how I look and I don't want anyone to see me.

Re: Girls who have a weight issue
Oh I feel that way all the time. I am up 6 1/2 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight which was up 10+ pounds from my honeymoon. I feel like a blob and I hate the way I look in most of my clothes.
I have been trying to find something to wear for Easter and I think I'll just stay at home and wear my elastic waist PJS

Re: Girls who have a weight issue
I've gained about 25 pounds since we got married 2 years ago, and it's only now that it's starting to come off. It's taking a long time though, which is very frustrating - but I feel better going to the gym bc I know it will eventually start showing up more. I was really upset and depressed last year, which didn't help the weight gain - but I also had to buy new clothes bc nothing else fit. That was something I said I never wanted to do, but nothing fit me anymore and I just felt (and looked) horrible trying to squeeze into clothes that were not my size anymore. Now, I've been trying to eat healthy and I go to the gym 3-4 times a weeks. I'm still no where near what I used to be, but people tell me now that I look like I lost weight and some of the clothes that I couldn't wear 3 months ago are starting to fit me again too. I send you lots of hugs and encouragement!!!! I guess we don't have an icon yet for Diet Dust - but try to stay positive and start a new routine - it's the best thing you can do and you'll feel so much better about yourself for trying Best of luck to you!!

Re: Girls who have a weight issue
Since starting fertility meds, I have gained around 25 pounds. The reality hit on Wednesday when I went to the dr. and got on the scale. It wasn't pretty. I am not thin to begin with and this just added to my depression.
What I find hard is that I never was "skinny" but this is the heaviest I have been in a long time. I need to get my but moving and grooving before I explode! Since my job is slowing down, and spring break is upon us, I am dragging to the gym.
I hope to loose the extra poundage before the summer! I really think a lot of it is water weight!

Yeah, I am going through the same thing. It's not like I can even enjoy gaining the weight by eating junk... it's from the fertility meds

Re: Girls who have a weight issue
I feel the same way. I gained about 15 pound 2 years ago from birth control pills. Then DH got sick and I ate all the time. I hated the way I looked and felt so uncomfortable in my own skin. I refused to buy clothes in a different size. I ended up joining WW and going back to the gym. Since the wedding I have put back on 4 pounds. I am determined to lose it.
Good luck to everyone struggling with weight!

Re: Girls who have a weight issue
Your situation is exactly like mine. I have a serious junk food addiction and no matter what, no matter how disgusted I am with myself, I can't stop eating it. I hate even going to the supermarket. I feel like people are staring at me. Unfortunately, now I'm preggo again and there's obviously not much I can do about losing weight, but I am trying hard to eat healthier. It's SO hard. I went clothes shopping a few days ago and it was one of the most depressing experiences of my life. Looks like I'll be stuck in DH's T-shirts and baggy pants again this pregnancy.

Re: Girls who have a weight issue
I thought about NOT ttc until I got all the extra weight off, Have thought a bout it more then once. BUT..I always seems to go back to not wanting to wait. I do though need to keep reminding myself as soon as NOW to work on the weight anyway and after we have a child that its gonna be harder and just keep it in the front of my mind. But I too am really afraid of weight gain from being Pg on top of already being overweight.
Im trying to work on the weight to help my fertility, but Im not getting anywhere fast...

Re: Girls who have a weight issue
I have 10 pounds to lose and I am going on vacation on SATURDAY. I am disgusted with myself and I cannot believe I need to be in summer like weather. I just cannot get committed to losing weight- but I have been pretty down on myself lately. I am not eating too badly-- it's just the exercise and general-- moving off the couch.

Re: Girls who have a weight issue
I think that if we asked this question to every woman in the US we'd all say we have weight issues. IMO no matter how much we weigh, we will never be happy. It's just one of those things. Be proud women...let's focus on the good thing even if it is that cute pinky toe(like a previous poster said). GIRL POWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I felt the same way you did as I still do sometimes but I made a promise to myself in Dec. That in Jan. I was going to join Weight Watchers (for the first time) and I was gonna make this happen. Since 1/9/06 I have lost 30lbs. & counting . I still have bad times (like this weekend) but today I am flying right again.
The only one that can pull you out of this is you. If you need someone to talk to feel free to FM me.

Re: Girls who have a weight issue
YES, YES AND YES!! I gained some serious weight and it got to the point where it was altering the way I live. I never wanted to go out anymore because I hated how I looked and how I had to dress by bigger self. I'd be sitting out in a bar dressed as conservatively as I go dressed to work. I felt like a complete ogre compared to women around me. My wardrobe was no longer fun and not remotely sexy and I just felt flat-out ugly. It really affected so many aspects of my personality and my husband was getting annoyed with me never wanting to do anything (though even at my heaviest he totally looked at me like I was the most beautiful thing around). And I found myself wearing things like sweat pants a lot because I felt comfortable and like I wasn't exploding out of them. Anyway, I finally got so sick of feeling like my best looking days were all behind me and I joined Jenny Craig. It really worked for me, I lost 18 pounds pretty quickly. I no longer go to JC though only because I got super sick of eating the same food over and over again, but I'm still dieting on my own and I even invested in an elliptical machine which I'm loving. I have about ten more pounds to go, but I feel so much better about myself already. Shopping is fun again!
You are so not alone in your feelings. I started and failed so many diets, every other week I was doing something new. Nothing worked until something inside me finally clicked and I found the willpower to actually stick to a plan. It's really hard work, but as soon as you start seeing results your momentun starts to build and it does get easier. Good luck!!

Re: Girls who have a weight issue
Yes, it's a horrible feeling. I keep saving all my "skinny" clothes and wearing sweats with holes in them. Recently, I was forced to face the fact that I was not that "skinny" girl anymore and went shopping for bigger clothes. I was so depressed shopping. It's so hard to loose weight when you LOVE food. I've gained about 20lbs since my wedding last year and every week I'm starting to exercise and diet, but it just doesn't happen. I wind up getting depressed and just eating more. It's a vicious cycle. I did, however, have kind of a waking when the doctor called me to tell me that my cholestrol and tryglicerides were high. So yes, I know exactly how you feel.
