Girls who have an at home doppler...
Were you ever not able to find the heartbeat? I tried last night and tonight and can't find it. It worked perfectly fine and was able to find the heartbeat plenty of times before and I was always able to find it right away..

You're only 11 weeks and it could be hard to find that early. Try again, lay down and start on your pubic bone (wayyyy low, under where your underwear would be) and slowly move straight up. A full bladder can also help push the uterus up since you are early.

Re: Girls who have an at home doppler...
I remember it was VERY tricky in the beginning and there were some days where I would give up. I agree with everything Julie said. Start out low and take your time - I am sure you will find it

Re: Girls who have an at home doppler...
Thanks.. I tried for 15 minutes and gave up. I didn't know if it was ok to do it any longer than that. I read that you should only do it 2 to 3 times a week no longer than 10 min at a time.. not sure how true that is but I have been trying to stick to that.
I did do it with a full bladder and started off low.. i guess i will try again soon

It's still pretty early, and the baby is still small. It may be hard to find at this point. Try searching low (as Julie said), but I wouldn't worry too much. Most doctors wont use the doppler before 12 weeks anyhow, so don't be too worried.

Re: Girls who have an at home doppler...
my only advice is not to stress.. sometimes the baby could be somewhat hiding.. and also.. i never realized how LOW i had to go with that thing before i found his heartbeat. sometimes its up high.. sometimes hes all the way on the left in the middle.. most of the time he is so ridiculously low it's crazy, etc etc. don't worry!

That's why I could never buy one of those. It would drive me nuts...lol I'm sure it's fine though. I think it's early to hear all the time.

I couldn't find it till I was 15 or 16 weeks. I remember trying every week from the day I got it and nothing. It stressed me out a bit.

Thats why I didnt want to get one but DH surprised me... I am not worried though. I usually can find it very easily so I will try again tonight or tomorrow. If this baby is anything like its father it is stubborn and hiding on me!
