Give me ideas on what to stock up on for the storm
I'm going to need food ideas if the electricity goes out and I'm drawing a blank.
What is everyone stocking up on??

I'm not really going to stock up on anything. I will buy a few things that i would need anyway. I'm going to buy some water, granola bars, bananas, carrots--things that don't need to be in the fridge. You can always eat cereal or fruit---apples last a pretty long time.

we just picked up two jugs of water and i was out of bread so we got that too. I figure if the electricity goes out we have snacks and cereal and stuff like that already in the house.

Ha I did the same! I also made extra ice so my drinks dont get warm! LOL.
Seriously I did make extra ice and already had a bag of ice in the freezer just in case power goes out so we can fill a cooler with food if we have to. I remember doing this during the blackout and we saved a bunch of food.
I also have cold cuts, bread, peanut butter, and cereal just in case.

I keep in my house at all times the following stuff just in case. I hate running out with the sheeple 
water
canned food
batteries
flashlights
radio works on batteries
matches
candles
tarp
5gallon gas tank
keep my gas tank pretty full at all times
keep cash handy if I need it

I'm not stocking up on anything... I'm just going food shopping earlier (I usually go on Sundays) to make sure we have the usual food in our house.

If we are really trapped for days, I figure DH & I will just stick our arms out the window and scoop up some water with a cup since the tides will apparently be up to our windows.
But to answer your question: Nothing except buying food and drink for our cats earlier than usual. I don't buy into the media frenzy, and if God forbid we are stuck, DH & I will survive on what we have.

i think the only thing your going to need is batteries and make sure you have a means of cooking. If we don't have power it most likely will be only a few days tops. Your refrigerator can survive if not open a few days or quickly opened and of course use non-frozen items up first.
Oh and water but you can always boil if need be.

I have on hand:
Bottles of water (48 of them)
A few gallons of water
Canned soups and stuff that can be heated up on the bbq if need be
Bread, lots of it. One loaf in the freezer and it'll stay if it defrosts.
Fruit
Parmalat milk
dry cereal
cereal bars
Honestly, I can't say I stocked up on any of this due to the storm, the only thing that's different from what I normally stock up on is the parmalat milk and honestly, my son is only 1, so it makes sense to have that in the house on any given day anyway.
I'm honestly more concerned with cleaning up anything that could become a projectile outside the house than I am with stocking up on food. I did, however, fill my car with gas and took out a wad of emergency cash.
