Giving vitamin drops w/flouride
My dr said (and it says on the label) to not give within 2 hours of milk/dairy. DD is ebf...on demand...about every 3 hours...plus I mix her cereal in the morning & at dinner with breastmilk...when the hell am I supposed to give these to her???

Re: Giving vitamin drops w/flouride
I give dd the vit right before breakfast. There's no way I can see to give it not close to dairy.
The vit tastes better if u keep it in the fridge. Dd doesn't fight me anymore since I've been doing that. (my dental hygienist told me that trick)

I have never heard that or followed that rule. DS is 16 months and never had any issues.

Re: Giving vitamin drops w/flouride
I have been giving it to dd for e past month . She is now 7 months ...i too put it in the fridge as per pp posting it on another page...dd actually likes it i give it to her with breakfast ...she actually gets excited when she sees me take the bottle out of the fridge. I tasted it room temp and from the fridge...nasty both ways but i guess if i had to choose cold tastes lil better.

Re: Giving vitamin drops w/flouride
Suffolk County banned flouride in our drinking water and so I'm wondering if babies in areas with flouride in the water do not get flouride drops? I've read some very concerning things about flouride- and our Dr. strongly suggested we not give it to our DC.

I agree. Do some research before you give anything with flouride.

Re: Giving vitamin drops w/flouride
I saw that label too and asked my ped and they said there wasn't anything wrong with giving it to them in a milk bottle.

Re: Giving vitamin drops w/flouride
Thanks for the responses...I'm not worried about giving flouride...I grew up in the city and they put flouride in the water and me & my bro turned out fine. I was worried about it not bring absorbed properly bc I think calcium blocks it's absorption...hence not giving it near dairy...but since there is no feasible way to do it, im going to give it to get everyday after her morning nap. Thanks everyone! :)
