Goals for 2009!

So let's hear them! It's so amazing being able to look back and see how far we have come (see the 2007 post I bumped)!

SO, what are your health and fitness goals for 2009? Big or small they are all equally important Chat Icon

My goal for this year is to basically maintain everything I have worked so hard for...my weight loss, running and exercising and to keep improving.

Also, I want to focus on eating even healthier this year then ever! I would like to work on cutting out anything artificial and processed. Diet soda and splenda are two things I can't seem to give up...I am going to work on that this year!

Re: Goals for 2009!

Diet goals:
Eat more vegetables & fruits every day.
Learn to cook healthier.
Listen to my hunger better instead of eating when I'm bored or upset.

Workout goals:
Make it to the gym at least 4 days each week.
Improve my cardio fitness so I can run 3 miles w/o breaking to walk and be able to run a mile in 9 mins.

I'd love to be able to wear my size 8's again (now all my pants are 10's and 12's).

Re: Goals for 2009!

eat healthier - some times I'm great...other times not so much

If that helps me lose the 30 pounds I have since meeting DH - that would be great (30 since I met him, 20 since wedding, 10 since kids - do we see a trend?)

sub 2 hour half marathon and sub 50m 10K (specifically for Cow Harbor in Sept, I haven't done that since my 20's and it's a hilly race, I would love to break my best time this year, but I'm not counting on that)

bring my kids out on more runs (I try to avoid the double stroller, but I think they really like it)

do at least one triathlon this year - I used to do them all the time when I lived in socal (at least one a month), but they are so costly our east, I have to really think about it. I always love doing it.

Re: Goals for 2009!

Continue to be successful on my weight loss journey. Hope to lose another 40-50 pounds in 09. Continue to work out and improve my fitness. One of the biggest goals for spring 09 is to be able to run another 5k without stopping to walk. Fall 09 I hope to improve my time to somewhere around 30 minutes and be at a 10 minute mile. Also keep up with my new found love - rahini yoga.

So excited for what 09 will bring! Chat Icon

Re: Goals for 2009!

I need to get back into eating healthy and excersizing regularly. During the spring to the fall I was walking every morning and eating pretty healthy. I lost 20lbs. Since I started working in an office and the weather has changed, I stopped my excersizing and I have been eating a lot of junk food. I have gained about 10 pounds back. Especially after this holiday season. I want to go on some type of diet plan or figure out what types of healthy food I can eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner and my snacks through out the day, with out being starving.

I have a tread mill but I do not ever feel the desire to use it. It is so boring. Since it has been so cold out, I havent had the desire to walk but I need to bundle up and get out there....

Scott

Re: Goals for 2009!

I would LIKE to hit my goal weight - but I don't NEED to. My biggest goals are:

*To have eating the RIGHT foods at the RIGHT proportions come as 2nd nature to me.

*To be fit enough that working out becomes more of a pleasure than a trial.

*To continue to be proud of myself for all of my achievements - not focus on what COULD be - but what IS.

*To love myself more and keep working towards a goal that is built with MY health and MY confidence in mind - rather than someone elses ideal.

*To create a model of behavior for my kids so that they can see me have a good relationship with food and fitness.

*To support other people who are looking to be healthier and happier in 2009!

Lose the 25 pounds I want to and maintain it. I keep yo-yoing 10 pounds!

Exercise at least 4 times a week.

I have one, possibly 2 vacations planned this summer. I'd love to feel very confident in my bikini.

I would love to lose 50 lbs, however it doesn't seem realistic so my goal is to lose 28 lbs.
