I think the cross that I bought my goddaughter was roughly $400.... I bought her a $150 bond also.

It was a few years ago & it was a goddaughter of a VERY close friend. It was $375 & we bought a bond also.
For my nephew, the godfather bought the cross, my sister bought his outfit already, so I bought him 10 shares of Disney ($500).

I went here too and this is about what I paid. It's a baby cross. Not something she'll wear when she is older. When she is older and more mature, I'm going to get her a much nicer one.

well this was kind of my thought because we have bought 3 crosses before this and no child has worn it after the baptism
plus we are giving a $$$$$check and buying her the christening gown
but it seems that evryone at least spends $150 so now I am not sure

I bought at Tri-County too but my sis wanted an adult cross for my nephew so i spent about $150 and adult chain. She wanted one that he could wear when he was older.

I would def. get one that she will use down the road for her communion, baptizm. you are already getting her alot. I would stick to 100-150 max

My BIL bought DS a cross and he gave him a hefty envelope. We're planning on doing the same. The baby crosses go for $150-200 unless you want to get diamonds in it etc. IMO baby cross and chain should be sufficient and one that he/she can wear until he/she makes their communion. Then you can get a bigger and more extravagant one.
My husband is my nephew's godfather (BIL's son) as well and we're doing just what he did.
I also think that the gift should be considered separate form the cross...
