Going away and sleeping in a pack n play
We are going to visit friends in 2 weeks and DD will have to sleep in our bedroom in a pack n play
1)every other time we have gone away she has had the luxury of her own room with a crib
2)she hasn't slept in a pack n play since she was 7 months old (she is now 16)
How is this going to go? Is it going to be a miserable nightmare?! She is a great napper/sleeper, but always sleeps in a crib. I am having chest pains already!

Re: Going away and sleeping in a pack n play
She should be fine. We went away earlier this month and DS is almost 2 and slept fine in the pack and play. He hadn't been in it since early last summer. We just put his stuffed animal in with him and he was fine.

That's what I am hoping. I figure as long as I bring her lovey and some other stuffed animals that are in her cribs she should be OK

Re: Going away and sleeping in a pack n play
OK, DD was the complete opposite, she's very very very attached to her crib and everytime we've been away she screamed when we would put her in the pack n play, ours, the hotels, anyones and had to sleep with us...Thankfully when we got home she went back to sleeping in her crib perfectly and didn't want to sleep with us!!!!
Sorry, but just wanted to give you our wonderful experience

UGH - I have a feeling this is the route we are going to be taking. How did you get to nap during the day though?

Same thing happened to us, even when DS fell asleep in bed with us and we tried to transition him. I don't think he likes feeling so enclosed. He wound up sleeping in bed w/ me (there were 2 beds and DH took the other), and for naps one of us would lie in bed with him while he slept.

DS was fine - he only slept in a PNP at my MIL's house and was fine when we were away.

Re: Going away and sleeping in a pack n play
i'll be praying for you . . .
DD has slept in her PnP away from home three times with me.
all three times -- massive fail. this comes from a 10 month old who STTN for 10 hours straight
the last time was this past thurs into friday night. we stayed at my sis's so we could attend the GTG on friday morning. DD FREAKED!!! she finally went to sleep at 11:20pm, and woke at 5:15am. She fussed a few times throughout the night.
She usually sleeps from like 830pm-630am
Im PRAYING you have better luck! Bring lots of familiar things for your LO to help feel comfy
ETS: DD sleeps in her PNP at daycare everyday! we have two of the same PNPs so youd think she'd be used to it. NOPE!

I am hoping this is how it goes! We just went to FL 3 weeks ago and she did great in a strange room, strange crib, all alone....so I am hoping that this will be OK, too! I am hoping that as long as she has her lovey she will sleep

Re: Going away and sleeping in a pack n play
DD didn't have any issues sleeping in the PNP even after she was in a big girl bed at 2.5.
Now, she is just too big for it, but I thin you should be fine.

Re: Going away and sleeping in a pack n play
It took him a little while to go down in his Pack N Play the first time we used it when we went to MD when he was 5 months old. It was a little stressful but he did fine the 2nd night.
