new born sleeping in pack and play
Has anyone used the bassinet part of the pack and play excluseively for sleep the first few months ? the crib we ordered will not be here in time, and I was thinking we could keep the PNP in our bedroom until DC's crib comes in.
Thanks !!

Re: new born sleeping in pack and play
I didn't use it exclusively, but for the first two months of DS's life, during the day he mostly slept in the PNP's bassinet attachment downstairs in my living room, and at night he would sleep in the bassinet in our bedroom. It worked very well.
You need to stop using it once the baby can roll onto its stomach though, it's pretty shallow and they could fall out. There's a weight limit too....

DD was in it until she was 10 weeks. Chubba was over the weight limit by 3 months old.

DC slept in there a few times - but now we really try to put him down in the crib at night.

Re: new born sleeping in pack and play
I don't think it's a problem. Our original plan was to have DD sleep in the top of the pack and play until I went back to work. Well the 1st night home she screamed any time we put her down in it, so needless to say she went in her crib the 2nd night home and has been there ever since.

Re: new born sleeping in pack and play
we use it for his naps during the day, so i don't see any difference if you were to use it at night. I think it's fine!

Re: new born sleeping in pack and play
DS sleeps in the bassinett partt of the PNP at night & for the occasional naps he takes!!
He started sleeping in at 6 weeks because I passed on the family bassinett to my new niece to sleep in now!! And he will sleep in it till the house renovations are finished in the next few months!
