going back to work
hi guys, I'm new here. I need someone to talk, obviously I don't have friends. I'm a stay at home mom for 5 yrs and I need to go back to work now. everyday I send resumes to different companies ever since july. BUT, as of now, nobody calls. I worked as a rehab aide for 2 years before I got pregnant. I have 10 years admin/secretarial/receptionist/call center experience in other country where I lived. do I need to put that in my resume? or just my experience here in the US? I am a US citizen and a graduate of AB Communication Arts. I don't know what to do anymore. I don't know how to drive so I am applying jobs near me or like 10 miles away from me.

I would definitely put any experience you have on your resume regardless of where it's from. Have you tried talking with a staffing agency? Also you may want to try looking on craigslist if its an administrative job you are looking for. Best of Luck!

Re: going back to work
Definitely list all your experience.
I may even put in your cover letter you've been a SAHM and are looking to return to the workforce.
Another tip: join the FB moms group for your town. There are often people posting looking for local help for jobs.
Many are PT too and good for moms.
Also I know it's not a job for everyone, but would you ever consider doing childcare out of your home?
I also hate to say it, but if you can, I would look into learning to drive. It's often something employers will consider in a potential employee being reliable.

thanks so much for the advice. I read that the best resume is one page only and if I put all my experience it will be 4 pages including duties and responsibilities. i really wanted to learn how to drive but i don't have money to go to driving school. i already inquire and its more or less $500 for a starter like me.
