Going to the USMC Ball - need a "gown"
This year, I will be attending the USMC Ball with DH.
He will be wearing this:
What do you suggest I wear? I am thinking something long... but am unsure of what color?
I am probably about a size 8, am about 6 mos PP, am not totally opposed to strapless but would be open to other styles too.
TIA!
ETA: I already own shoes that are pretty similar to these, so I would prefer to get something that would go with them so I am not purchasing new shoes, bag AND dress! The dress is needed because I don't see myself squeezing into any of my pre-preggo dresses at this time

Have a blast! I'm no help because I think tons of colors look great with that uniform.
Where are you guys stationed? We are moving to NC to the MCAS there.

my brother was stationed at Camp LeJeune 
with those shoes, I'd go for a black dress. or navy blue. I wouldn't do red b/c its hard to match exactly to the red in the uniform and nothing grates on me more than mismatched reds 
have a great time at the ball...and..your dh rocks. (as does -Laurie-'s)

Definitely go long, the ball is very formal. I've been several times, and women wear dresses of all colors! With those shoes, navy blue would be a good choice, or a silver gown, or something in the purple family might be nice too!

Wow. I would love to go to an event like that!! I would wear something long, formal and elegant. I would say to go try some dresses on so you can get an idea of what you might like, especially after having a baby. I had a formal event for which I started to shop online but then found that I really needed to see in person how the styles suited me.
