Golden Retriever Puppies
Does anyone know of any breeders in the tri-state area of Golden Retrievers? DH and I are hoping to find a puppy and we're looking for some breeders.

This will probably get moved to the Pet Board...
You can begin by checking with the AKC. It is a good starting point to get some contacts in the local breed clubs.
Go to AKC.org and then breeds & follow the links to Breed clubs.
I also recommend checking Petfinder.com for rescues available.

No problem. I did not want you to think that it would get pulled or something!
I can also ask my vet when I go there next week, if you can wait. She is a vet to many show breeders in the NY area.

That would be so nice if you could ask your vet! It is not that we want a show dog, we just want a reputable breeder (no puppy mills!).
I checked the AKC website and e-mailed the Long Island Kennel Club for a puppy referrel. Not sure how that will work out though.
We're hoping to get one when we move in June. Thanks again

We got ours from this breeder. She is about 3 years old and such a beautiful and good dog.

I suggest you contact Golden Retriever rescue organizations. There are many young retrievers up for adoption. In the past year, I know of 3 that were under the age of 9 months that were up for adoption in a NYC humane organization.

I do have my eye on LIGRR (Long Island Golden Retriever Rescue) as well. The young ones do go fast but I'll stay on top of it. I hadn't thought of the NYC humane society yet, thank you!
