******Spoliers. ****
Why did you hate the ending? Because she gets away with it?

Re: Gone Girl
I guess........it felt like it just ended, That's it- book over. Did she kill him after? That last line where she says "I Wish he hadn't said that. I can't stop thinking about it".
What did you think?

I think the author was purposely leaving us to wonder and also let us know that Nick will never be safe with her.

I really liked this book...i thought it kept you interested in what was going to happen next
I think she left it open to maybe write a squeal to it...
Maybe the sister will kill her

I loved it! I read another one of her books, sharp objects (extremely disturbing). But it ends in a similar way. You don't feel satisfied, but you want to talk about it, or can't get it out of your mind.

I agree. I thought the ending was perfect because it showed that Amy will always be dangerous and never give in. I didn't read Sharp Objects yet, but I read Dark Places and liked it ( though it was VERY dark and unpleasant)

Gone Girl- spoilers
Thanks Mrs A!
I loved the ending! Even if there is never a sequel, I'm ok with the ending. What I loved about the book is that both of the narrators, ultimately, are pretty crappy excuses for human beings. The ending was perfect, because, regardless of what happens, they deserve each other. Nick was somewhat more sympathetic than Amy, but still... They are both awful. I did cringe when she was actually pregnant though. If there is a sequel, you know that's not going to turn out well.

I just can't see Reese Witherspoon playing Amy.
Maybe Margo but not Amy.

Re: Gone Girl- spoilers
I read this in one day!! I couldn't put it down. It was def unpredictable but I didn't like the ended. I guess I wanted more of a happy ending. She gets caught & justice is served etc.

Re: Gone Girl- spoilers
I just read this. I loved it until the end. I think it's ridiculous that they couldn't implicate her. She said in her diary that she was buying a wooden cradle for their anniversary... and then she buys Punch and Judy dolls.. and no one picks up on this???? It irritates me.

Gone Girl- spoilers
I really liked the first 60-75% of this book. The rest kind of left me flat. I like when I don't want a book to end, and for the last quarter or so, it seemed a little redunant to me. I was ready for it to end, and then the ending was just kind of boring to me.

I agree with this. I wasn't crazy about the ending, but I loved the rest of the book.

Re: Gone Girl- spoilers
I was disappointed with the book overall - I think I had heard so much hype I built it up in my head so much. It was ok, but not as good as I hoped.

I don't think that would be enough evidence to implicate her.

Gone Girl- spoilers
I didn't read all the responses on this thread, but I just wanted to add that I'm almost done with this book, and it's such a good read and so well written, compared to the 50 shades trilogy. It's like The Post vs NY times.

Although I was waiting for Desi's alibi for that morning to pop up or the dad to come out with useful information.
