Am i the only one who can't get into it.. i am finding very dull. I'm continuing on because i keep hearing all these great things about the book.
i am on day 4 andy haven't read more than 18% of the book. every time i try my mind wanders off. LoL
please tell me it gets better

It gets better!
I could not get into it...it took me about a week to get throught the first 100 or so pages.
Then I was hooked...finished it 2 days later.

I just finished the book and I have to say, I was thoroughly disappointed in the ending. I like when a book doesn't go the way you expect it to, but this ending had me outraged. I finished the book about 2 minutes ago and my heart is still literally pounding I'm so frustrated with it!

Loved it!
Although I was waiting for Desi's alibi for that morning to pop up or the dad to come out with useful information.
I truly thought this was going to happen. I thought there was going to be a nurse or his father or something in the nursing home to implicate her. I just can't believe she WON. 
ETA: And I agree it was a touch too long, a bit too much for me. Once she got back and started spinning her Desi story, I was ready for it to be over. I kept thinking "where the hell can they go now?!"

This book actually aggravated me! I really like Diary Amy then real Amy was a total psycho . I hate how she got away with everything.

I have to say this book reminded me of a Lifetime movie. I read it quickly and felt like I couldn't put it down because I was hoping for some type of shocker in the end. I was not shocked or surprised by any of the "twists" in this book. The ending was so contrived and I was almost mad at myself for buying into the hype of this book.

I really enjoyed this book however i wish it would have ended differently but i am not too sure what i would have wanted to happen instead. Like a previous poster said, maybe it was better that these two very messed up people deserved eachother. I just cant believe how she got away with everything.. very clever book.

the book was def slow in the beginning and i couldnt really get into the characters. then it def picked up but then the ending was awful and i was mad how they just jam packed the end with so much stuff.
i just finished her other book sharp objects which got good reviews and i wasnt into it. it was supposed to be disturbing but i didnt find it that way. again, slow beginning, jam packed end

just finished it...took me awhile. I usually read books in two days during my commute, this one took awhile...It dragged. The end was a bit of a let down....i turned the page hoping for another entry and didn't see it and was like "meh". I hope she writes a sequel and Nick gets his justice. She is bat shit crazy, i felt bad for him..

She was totally crazy. Like batshit, the world owes me everything because I'm pretty type of crazy.
And how exhausting it must be to live your life always thinking of ways to hurt people.
I didn't like this book at all.

Why did so many people hate the ending? The whole point was that Amy was insanely clever, cunning and well prepared. What sense would it have made if all of that came crashing down at the end?

Personally, I thought it was TOO much. Unrealistically so. Besides, who WANTS to see the bad guy win?

What you are saying makes perfect sense. But, I still hated how it ended. She learned nothing in the end. That's what bothers me, although that is usually what happens irl.

I just read this. I loved it until the end. I think it's ridiculous that they couldn't implicate her. She said in her diary that she was buying a wooden cradle for their anniversary... and then she buys Punch and Judy dolls.. and no one picks up on this???? It irritates me.
I can't believe no one in the book asked about the cradle. I wanted someone to look into the alarm company for the fathers house. Didn't Amy change the number to her disposable cell phone?

Am I the only one who hated this book?
I read books really quickly, but this took me forever to get through. I read her other two books and loved them and was excited about this one, but just could not get into it. I found all the characters vile and unlikeable and over the top. It was slow moving and anti-climactic.

Like most others on here, really liked the book, HATED the ending. I am all for twists in books, but HATED it. Was also hoping that some info would come out at last minute...
