Good spots in South west Florida?
We have a wedding for a friend in Naples. A group of us are looking to make a vacation out of it. We want to rent a house with our families and spend a week. We just don't know where. We were looking at Marco Island but then we heard there is really nothing to do there besides the beach. I guess what we are looking for is a place that has an active town with restaurants and nightlife that is family friendly. Also, beach. Someone mentioned Ft. Meyers. Any other suggestions?

I love Ana Maria Island. Laid back and you can rent a variety of different places.

Good spots in South west Florida?
Bonita Beach Naples Pier/Beach Barefoot Beach Vanderbilt Beach Ft. Myers Beach There are so many beaches along the Gulf. All are amazing.
Naples Zoo (small but great zoo)
Naples 5th Avenue - a few blocks of stores/restaurants
There aren't many hotels on the beach. You need to go more north for that (St. Pete/Clearwater). Marco Island is very quiet. Some hotels and homes. Nothing really to do there but beach.
Sanibel/Captiva Islands are nice but mostly just beaches.
Tin City in Naples is a bunch of shops/restaurants. I think there are boat tours from there too.
Maybe look at VRBO/Air BNB for a place to stay.

Re: Good spots in South west Florida?
What about renting a house in Naples? Naples has a pretty decent night life. On 5th there are tons of restaurants and shops.
And along route 41 in the Mercato Shopping Center are higher end stores along with a ton of restaurants and nightlife. It really is a fun city.
Beaches are only a few miles away if you decide to stay inland.
While Marco Island is pretty; its a bit far from the night life. Its a good hour and a half south of Naples. And I also found there weren't too many restaurants to choose from.
There are hundreds upon hundreds of hotels in Naples. Naples is fairly big. You just have to decide where and which one is the most to your liking.
Ft. Meyers is a bit north of Naples (more towards the airport); I would choose to stay in Naples.
