Got an awkward question..
Sorry if non intentional TMI, but I have been so sore in between my legs, it feels like I was kicked in the crotch...
I told my DH it felt like I was raped by an elephant..
Anyone ever experience this or hear of this before? I am sooo uncomfy!

Re: Got an awkward question..
I do feel pressure down there occassionally. I asked my doc about it and she said that it happens when the baby is low. Totally normal! After a while, it goes away...I guess when the baby moves further up.

Re: Got an awkward question..
Ya got me?? All of the girls on PW March Board are all experiencing it, this is how I knew it was normal. I just think it's ligaments and the baby gaining weight and adding pressure. I'm 31 weeks and it just started.......

Re: Got an awkward question..
It has come and gone and only lasted a little bit for awhile now, and I thought it was from "straining" myself or overdoing..
The last two days.. CONSTANT..
Glad I am not the only one!! Thanks so much!!

Re: Got an awkward question..
I know exactly what you mean, but most people I have talked to never had it or only had it towards the end of pregnancy. Maybe it's not that common? I have had this continuously since I was about 17 weeks and I am now at 32 weeks and it has not gone away at all. My doctor said when you are pregnant your body produces a hormone called relaxin that loosens up your ligaments and it causes the bones in the pelvis to separate. I think it is called symphysis pubis dysfunction. It is so painful for me at times, especially after I have been sitting for a while and I get up. When I sleep on my side with my legs together it actually wakes me up from sleep it is so painful. It also hurts when I have all of my weight on one leg, like when I'm getting dressed or getting in the shower. I don't think there is anything you can do for it really. I was thinking of going for acupuncture, but so far I have just been dealing with it. I would love to knoiw if there is anything to make it go away!

Re: Got an awkward question..
wow I had it really bad i felt like my pubic bone was breaking. Doc told me that the pelvic bne actually seperates as the belly get heavier. I bought a belt and it helped a little. It was one of my biggest discomforts towards the end besides the heartburn.

Re: Got an awkward question..
The joints in your lower back that get spongy and allow your body to hold your enlarged uterus is you SI joints. This is waht I did damage to when I was preggo with Alex. I have had three different belts, and NONE of them have helped.. This isnt really my back or my hips, although they havent helped me feel better.. lol.
You ladies that have been experiencing this since 17 weeks, ask your Dr to prescribe Physical Therapy.. THE BEST thing I did BOTH pregnancies, during and PP!!! Good Luck!
