Re: Got my results
I would consult with Cornell if I were you. I know they specialize in high FSHers. Also, you can join me in the wheatgrass shots. You can chase them with vodka or may be create a wheatgrass tini j/k and add in acupuncture while you are at it. I am doing that too, trying to lower my fsh. Don't give up. There are things you can try before DE or adoption Thats crap that they said that to you!!!!

my cousin gave me the number of her doc...Klligman..
I know it can vary but Rosenfeld told me it doesn't matter.
I was so stressed out that day...with the mammo...they told me that they couldn't draw the bloods..
I know that this a business..their stats..
I feel....so devastated.
Donor eggs? I can't afford that! Adoption? Ok, that too!

Re: Got my results
First off . I know of a woman in her early 40's with a high FSH who was also told she was not a candidate at North Shore. Def. call Cornell, chug the wheatgrass, and head to accupuncture. Hang in there!

I wouldn't give up. Others will chime in that it can vary from month to month. I would move on somewhere else.

Re: Got my results
Dr. Rosenfeld told me that it doesn't matter what other bloods I take..it's high...
How can this be happening
Why didn't I try sooner?
He also told me that since we weren't trying long there is still a chance naturally albeit small..
But the they won't do IVF without donor eggs.

Re: Got my results
Dr. Davis's number is 646-962-3765.
Mine has been 15. Did you read the book 'Inconceivable'? There are women with FSH's of 100 and get pregnant. It wont be easy but you can do it. I suggest like PP, go to acupuncture, start taking in wheat grass (juice, powerder, pill). Last cycle blood test (before I had the estrogen patch on) it was down to 6.9. Yes, once you have high FSH they always consider you high, but darn it, we will prove them wrong. Don't loose hope. But, get it out and then pick yourself up and fight with us. (oh you just put the fight back in me, thank you!).
FM me if you want.

Susan - I'm so sorry, and I know the devestation you feel right now. But I agree with the other posters and call Cornell, DON'T GIVE UP!!!
Don't beat yourself up either, you didn't try earlier because you weren't ready. This is not your fault!
I wish I could reach through the computer and hug you!

Re: Got my results
Get a 2nd opinion - and like the other girls said, it can vary..... it bugs me that they just said to you "adopt or get donor eggs"...there's gotta be more that you can do. Get another opinion

thanks..I won't give up...just so devastating to be turned down for treatment. I thought maybe my thyroid was off, maybe DH's sperm count wasn't so hot..maybe we're not timing it right.

I know..
I've had half a bottle of vodka...
DH tried to help..he's numb..saying we need to try the old fashioned way...4% chance but it's a chance right? time it perfectly..take a vacation..relax...we don't have the means for adoption or egg donation.
holy crap..what if this is it..?

Re: Got my results
First of all, you can lower your FSH through diet. Buy the book, Inconcieveable. It is about a woman with high FSH and her journey through conception naturally. Wheatgrass really helps...
Don't give up until you have exhausted all options! Always get a second opion!

Don't bother calling NYU, they don't handle high FSHers, they cancelled me twice in the past. Call Dr. Davis at Cornell he will give you his honest opinion as to what can be done with percentages of success.
For other advice don't forget to check out the FSH boards on ivfconnections.com and the High FSH boards at this website
good luck to you!

This is sooo true! Don't give up! I just read a whole article about the fact that IVF clinics turn many women away because it would ruin their stats. They do things like encourage women to use donor eggs or transfer multiple eggs because it's better for them Definitly visit another doctor.
