Re: Got my results
I really don't have any advice to offer - everyone else has really covered that. I just want to send you some and tell you not to give up...have your pity party, then pick yourself up and do something about it!

Re: Got my results
Susan, I am so, so sorry. I cannot fathom the panic you must be feeling at the moment, but as the other ladies said, do not throw in the towel! Mope, mourn, wallow - give yourself whatever time you need to have that little pity party and then pick yourself back up and prove your RE wrong.
I've told this story before, but I have a good friend who was told the same thing. She was told she had less than a 1% chance of conceiving and would require donor eggs. She said screw it, proceeded with injectables and conceived on her second try. She's due in a few weeks

Re: Got my results
I have HIGH FSH and DH LOW morphology -- and we got pg on the 2nd IVF. Not to mention overweight and being old.
There is help and hope - you have FM.

Re: Got my results
Oh no..Im so sorry.
I may differ from what the others say in that many places say your FSH is only as good as your highest number. I was accepted at NSUH for the grant with my lowered fsh ( from wheatgrass) but they all felt my highest number was my true reading. So I dont want to extend false hope of it going down at your age and that high of a number.
The hope part is that you CAN and women HAVE gotten PG at that number with changes to diet, and other things. Check out the FSH boards for more advice.
Inconceivable was a good book for faith and hope. Read it.
Also Donor eggs is not that much, not as much as many would think. Dont give up hope of possibilities just yet.

Re: Got my results
JUST BECAUSE YOUR FSH IS HIGH DOES NOT MEAN YOUR EGGS ARE BAD. FSH VARIES FROM TO MONTH. CORNELL WONT EVEN START YOU ON A CYCLE IF THEY THINK ITS NOT IN RANGE.

Re: Got my results
Definitely read the book Inconceivable by Julia Indichova. I can even send you mine if you want to FM me w/ your address. Please don't think of it as over...there is so much you can do to lower this number and it does vary month to month.

Re: Got my results
I just wanted to say also, like the others, please don't give up. Go to Cornell, go where you have to. You are way too new to this process to even think about throwing in that towel. Exhaust all possibilities! I've been told donor egg was basically my only option but I haven't given up yet trying to use my own. I don't have an FSH issue, but a genetic issue. Please try to hang on!

Re: Got my results
I read this post last night and was still thinking about it on my way into work this morning. I am so mad for you that a doctor would give you no help, no hope. And I think it's been posted but it's all about their stats.
We aren't statistics. We are real people trying to have a family.

I am so sorry....please don't give up...we were also told by two doctors to give up, adopt or use donor sperm...we then went to Cornell and everything changed...they had hope for us....
Please meet with Dr Davis who is the best RE for high FSH and see what he has to say...I am sure he will not turn you down and at least give one cycle a try....I have seen many success stories from Cornell from women with higher FSH then you....
GL to you!!!!!!

really..really?
I will do anything to lower my number..take better care of myself, stress less, give up cosmos..etc...I never knew how much I wanted it until someone told me it was almost impossible.
I'm scared to call there. I'm scared they will just turn me down before I get an appt.

I can't add much except to say that envioronmental factors do play a role. Another book I would recommend is The Infertility Cure by Randine Lewis. She is an ob/gyn and a traditional Chinese medicine Dr and has lots of great ideas. If you have 3 months you CAN change your fsh and give yourself better chences. My fsh was 14.9 when I got PG through RMA. I implanted 2 and am pregnant with 2. I am not sure if they have a "cut off" and think they may look at everyone individually.
I would also suggest you look into CCRM. They have the BEST stats in the country and are in or outside of Denver. One of the Dr's will do a phone consult with you. I am not sure what their views is on high fsh but can't hurt to try.
Most importantly do NOT let one Dr tell you that it is "impossible" to get pregnant. I got that speech when my fsh was 11(10 is the cutoff in most labs) being told to use donor eggs-by Columbia. FSH is just a number and does not predict how and individual will respond to meds only what "statistics" show. For example-red cars are shown to get more speeding tickets. If you have a red car does that mean you get more speeding tickets? Not necessarily. Keep your hope and find a Dr willing to work with you.
And on a last note without getting into a rant-switch to ALL ORGANIC products-food, meat, cleansers. I am convinced the reason why sdo many of us have fertility and egg aging issues today is from environmantal factors. We are being poisoned! Try to get rid of fragrances, switch to natural toothpaste. Do your research. Good luck

thanks..yes I'm aware of the environment. I think my stress level is extremely high and has been for ove a year due to family issues. I'm going to work on that big time. Cutting out alcohol, caffeine..a smoke here and there when I'm drinking..all of it..and I'm going to try acupuncture and wheat grass. Different lifestyle..I will do it.
thanks
