Graco Pack-N-Play Questions
I am trying to decide between 2 models, the Samuel (from BBB) and the Melbourne (carried in Target),
The Samuel has a canopy, but no mobile. The Melbourne has a mobile (cheap one,) but no canopy.
I wasn't plan on taking the PnP outside, but thought the canopy would be a nice feature to block out light when baby is napping downstairs.
How important is either the mobile or the canopy based on your experiences.
Also, they both have the changing station, but the Samuel one folds up when not in use, the Melbourne does not. Is this an issue?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Re: Graco Pack-N-Play Questions
I really wanted one with a canopy and ended up never using it....
A mobile is nice, though. The one DS sleeps in at my mom's has a mobile, no canopy and is quite nice.

Re: Graco Pack-N-Play Questions
for DD neither the canopy or mobile would have mattered...we have the chicco sahara but almost never use it, except for the first 6 weeks when she slept in our room.

Re: Graco Pack-N-Play Questions
we have one with a mobile... it is funny... i didnt think it would be a big deal, but DD ended up loving the mobile... much better than the expensive tiny love one! my MIL has one with a canopy, personally i dont think it is necessary unless you are planning on using it to block sunlight...

Re: Graco Pack-N-Play Questions
We have an Evenflo one with a mobile, no canopy. The mobile was worthwhile. If we used it outside we put it in the shade, so the canopy never matter. I really don't like the one we have though....it's a PITA to put together, and not as easy to use the changing table as the Graco my Mom has.

Re: Graco Pack-N-Play Questions
Thank you for posting this... I was having the same dilemma and ended up with the Melbourne from Target!
I didn't like the canopy on the Graco models because it seemed difficult to detach and I didn't want to be raising and lowering it every single time I wanted to check on the baby...
Hope that helps!

Re: Graco Pack-N-Play Questions
Lucky - how funny! So, are you pleased with the Melbourne? I have to say it's the nicest of the patterns, IMO. Does the changing station get in the way, being that it doesn't fold up like on some of the "better" models?

Re: Graco Pack-N-Play Questions
I thought they were all the same except for the aesthetic design. The one I registered for has a canopy and no mobile. Maybe I should rethink my choice.

Re: Graco Pack-N-Play Questions
Well I looked into it and the mobile on the one I like doesn't do anything unless you stand their and turn it yourself. Kind of stupid. I guess it's just there for the baby to look at.
