Re: Grandma topic. Any thoughts on this?
They are both grandma first name. Never thought about it being a problem
And when Ds is with one he just refers to them as grandma . ( grandma, can I have my cup ?). He's going to be 3 and just drops the first name on his own. He only will use "grandma first name" when telling us a story etc

Re: Grandma topic. Any thoughts on this?
True story. To differenciate between my two grandmas growing up, we used to call one grandma Brooklyn (she lived there) and one grandma bagels (she always gave me and my sis bagels )LOL

Re: Grandma topic. Any thoughts on this?
We go with grandma first name. I really don't understand why this is a big deal and other grandma is rude. mil has a right to be offended. She is just as much a grandma as your mom.

Re: Grandma topic. Any thoughts on this?
My kids have 3 grandmas, and none of them have our last name so they're all grandma first name in conversation, but when my kids address them it's just grandma.

Re: Grandma topic. Any thoughts on this?
I grew up with 2 grandmas. Both Grandmas last names began with C so It was grandma LAST NAME to differentiate. DD will call our parents Grandma G and Grandma C which is the first letter of their last names to make it easier.

Growing up, I had Grandma (the one who lived close by) and Grandma Kitty (the one that lived far away & I didn't see much-- her name was Catherine but she went by Kitty).
My MIL goes by "Gigi" (this was MIL's choice for a nickname) and my mom goes by "Grandma"

Re: Grandma topic. Any thoughts on this?
growing up we included first name, i'm from an Italian family so we referred to them as "nonna first name" for each grandma.
My parents and ILs are all called something different by the grand kids per their request on what they wanted to be called.

Re: Grandma topic. Any thoughts on this?
We did Grandma (first name) and Grandpa (first name) for both and sometimes called them just Grandma and Grandpa. But, both of my grandpas had the same first name so it was decided that we called one Grandpa Davey and the other Grandpa David or Grandpa David Dog (lmao)

Hey, my grandma was Kitty too! First name Kathryn. I always wondered where Kitty came from. lmao. Kinda like my Aunt Michelle who was Aunt Micky. Such random deviations to the names, I think.

Grandma topic. Any thoughts on this?
They are THREE. ITs not like the kid is 12 lol It will work itself out and eventually you Lo will understand which grandma she is referring to and will use their name after grandma when speaking to others and not them. I don't see why anyone would get upset by using "other". It's like not using aunt or uncle in front of a name. It comes with time.

Re: Grandma topic. Any thoughts on this?
both my grandmother's had dogs. Alice and Daisy. So.if my mom.said we are going to grandma's. We ask Alice's mother or Daisy's? We are all late 30's, early 40's and my mom still when she tells the story.

Grandma topic. Any thoughts on this?
As kids we called my grandparents nickames: Grandma and Grandpa Upstairs - lived upstairs from Grandma and Grandpa Downstairs Grandma and Grandpa BooBoos - Grandmas sews and always had cuts on her hands and grandpa had open heart surgery so you could see the scar on his upper chest Great Grandma First Name
As we got older they were Grandma/pa First Name.
I'm expecting my first, I'm not sure what my parents want to be called but my IL's are referred to as mi-ma and pe-pa. I'm assuming they'll be the same for my kids but it hasn't been discussed yet.
